Ready to drink; halfway between oaky and steel; no butter. Damn near perfect with both salmon and lamb. — 4 months ago
Red fruit, cream and raspberry. Very smooth and balanced. Paired with chartreuse. — 9 months ago
I wish I still had some of these 01 Jerichos. This wine tastes like Mouton Rothschild in a great year. One of the best 01 Cabs. I want to try this wine now to see how it’s holding up and how it’s developed. This was when I noticed the alcohol levels getting higher on Cabs but no hotness or alcohol flavors here. This has it all. the layers of complexity, the creme de cassis, lead pencil and perfectly ripened dark fruit. Very well balanced and fun to drink. — 5 years ago

Medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruit, floral, spice and citrus. On the palate apple, pineapple and pear flavors, with lemon zest, vanilla and toasty biscuit notes, smooth texture. Nice balance with bright acidity on a medium+ creamy buttery finish, savory with spicy flinty mineral ending. — 22 days ago
I’ve been tasting bottles of the 2013 since 2016 and they have consistently improved over those 10 years from ‘tight and flat’ to ‘layered, super smooth, loaded with dark fruits, graphite and a little pepper’ for the most recent bottle (3/26). This has emerged as one of the best Rodgers Creek’s I have in a collection spanning 13 vintages from 2006 on. — 2 months ago
These are recalled impressions, not contemporaneous notes, from two nights ago, when the family council of elders met for a steak/wine pairing event at my brother Angelo’s house.
Everyone loved this one. Deep and complex. Like a great Pessac with its notes of deep gravel and cigar box. — 6 months ago

Wow. Pale ruby color, with smooth light body cherry smoky body(baking spice?) with grainy tannins and great aftertaste — 5 years ago
We had the 2013 Vintage on 4/25-27/26. A real good Ramey wine. Black fruit and menthol on the bouquet. BlackBerry, plum, graphite and mocha on the palate. Full bodied, tannins all smoothed out, good over the three days. New World — 2 months ago
Pale lemon color with aromas of stone fruits and blossom and spice, fruit from the Martinelli Charles Ranch, two miles in from the Pacific, aged for 12 months in 25% new oak. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with a touch of zesty lemon, crisp, with nitty vanilla notes. Nice mouthfeel, vivid acidity, medium+ finish ending with fruit, vanilla and citrus mineral character. Nice! — 5 months ago
Drank for my 75th BD. QUITE DECENT for 19 yrs. — 10 months ago
Delicious with a NY strip — 4 years ago
I remember tasting this wine around 20 years ago & I remember exactly what it tasted like. One of the best wines from Napa for the 98 vintage. Rice a Roni should give David Ramey the Jericho Canyon fruit back to make Cabernet. These Rudd & the Ramey Jerichos are top notch. I just read Pepsi now owns Rice a Roni. — 5 years ago

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Nose of plums, cherries, light oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, earth and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, blueberries, cherries, light cedar, herbs, chocolates, black pepper, earth, black tea, mediterranean spices and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Merlot from Napa Valley. Nicely balanced and fruit forward with a nice mouthfeel.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 7 years and see how it evolves. Showing good potential to become a 94+ point wine.
Feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux. Soft and elegant. Complex, spicy and entertaining.
A great sipping wine that will pair nicely with food too.
A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in 60% new French oak barrels for 18 months. A tiny production of only 1,200 bottles.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
