Strawberries, ripe raspberries, pepper, earth tones… really good glad I have a few more bottles! — 3 years ago
This is what I want in a $35 village white burg on a Wednesday night. Such precision here with perfectly ripe citrus and orchard fruit, tasteful/minimal oak treatment that has nothing to prove, prickly acid, and length. There’s balance, clarity, and delicacy that’s rare at this price point. — 5 years ago

I post most of my reviews saying I'm enjoying the wine at the park across the street. The truth is, this is the first time enjoying a bottle of wine in the park itself. This palm tree themed wine seemed appropriate though in our climate, palm trees are nowhere to be found. This one's got vacation - or at least lunchtime - written all over it. I'd describe it as prickly like a cactus which is the fun here. This one's no lightweight and the sweetness is very restrained. Not a chicky wine by any stretch. Dare I say there's power in this rosé? A great choice for lunchtime in the park! — 6 years ago

Sunny and juicy. Almost sweet, but a little acid and - especially - mineral keep it in check. Generally round, a touch prickly, and closes drier. Doesn't keep up with a monster blue, but complements a milder Humboldt Fog well. — 7 years ago
Mourvèdre madness. Petrichor, chewing tobacco, black pepper. Very prickly. Great with steak. — 7 years ago
Really splurging on a Wednesday with this one, but I had a hectic day. Intense minerality on the nose and green apple and lime on the first sip. Some underripe pear. Clean. 90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay. The sharp acidity and prickly bubbles are great with broccoli cheddar quiche and a side salad. from my original Costco stash, probably the best bottle yet, $84, I think was the price. Mousse evident when poured, in the glass there are few bubbles, but the prickly palate sensation is evident. Very much orange peel and biscuits, a little toast, almonds on the finish, it’s a really lovely bottle. — 4 years ago

Sour yellow fruit, star fruit, prickly pear, deep acidity. — 5 years ago

Guava, wet grass, green pepper and herbs on the nose, tart and crisp minerality with a light prickly ness - goes down easy and wonderfully. — 7 years ago
P&H was founded in 1988 by industry professionals Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses and Heather Patz. Aromas of fresh ripe stone fruits, honey, nutty and floral notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors of apple, pear and sweet pineapple with savory toasty oak tones. Lingering finish ends with creamy fruit and oaky mineral notes. A bit rounder than previous vintages. Wonderful. — 7 years ago
Sulphur. Pale straw. Little fruit except tart lime/lemon zest. Steely minerality. Petrol/kerosine. Bond dry. Explosive / extremely prickly salty acidity. Very salty and saline and energetic on the palate. Tannic and powerful. — 3 years ago
Quite possibly the best sauv blanc I've ever had! Nutty, funky and honeyed nose. Palate has a prickly texture, yellow apple, wet rocks, pear, lychee, pineapple, vanilla, salinity, high acid. Is it chenin? Is it a Jura chard? This flat out pushes the boundaries of what sauvignon blanc can do. — 5 years ago
What a nose. Spice, ripe and overflowing mid season cherries, pine resin and sap. Wow. Huge sweetness as well. Smells like 1er Cru Côte de Nuits. Stunning. Palate is nervy and engaging with huge mid season semi sweet cherry fruit. Juicy and prickly acids with wonderful juicy and ripe tannins with a citrus twang on the finish. In the zone right now. So elegant and yet so flavorful. — 7 years ago

Peppery, prickly ripe red fruit with a strong whiff of cured meat. — 8 years ago

it’s dry, a tiny bit sweet, prickly is a good name for this, i feel it on my tongue. stopped at olivia’s, saw this on the shelf, dropped everything else in my hand while waiting in line. a perfect summer night, a perfect summer wine. i had a mushroom pot pie and i’m on the second episode of alien: earth. not even scared to go back to work tomorrow because this is so nice. the horrors persist but so do i. — 10 months ago
