Maison Albert Bichot

Domaine du Pavillon Clos des Ursulines Pommard Pinot Noir 2020

2020 vintage. This alternate property naming nonsense is a real pita for a wine list. Trying to keep it G-rated but biting my tongue something fierce. Despite all that, still picked this up. Plenty of headaches but oodles of staying power. 11.20.24. — a day ago

Le Pavillon de Saint-Jacques

Lalande de Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Blend of 80% merlot and 20 % Cabernet Franc from 3 hectares in Lalande de Pomerol. Notes of dark fruit, chocolate and mint on the nose. Round, good structure, very smooth on the palate. — 9 months ago

Maison Albert Bichot

Domaine du Pavillon Meursault Pinot Noir 2014

Sturdy wine. Plenty of oak and tannin with highish acid at first. Needs plenty of air then starts to open up. Mushrooms and cranberries. Yeah that’s pretty pretty good 👍🏼 — 4 days ago

M. Chapoutier

"Le Pavillon" Ermitage Syrah 2020

Power, poise and precision. Black fruit galore, spice, bacon and butcher shop, bonfire, smoke, olives, garrique - an incredible nose that gave me goosebumps. Perfect balance, immense intensity and just spot on. — a month ago

Château Pavillon Figeac

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

This is surprisingly good for a bargain-priced St. Emmie. Nose shows clear, ripe plummy Merlot fruit, some clay-inflected earth, some underbrush, and subtle, pleasant vegetal note. Very nice balance and mouthfeel. Not a bruiser, but more on the elegant side. Fruit, tannin, acids all nicely dancing together. I like this a lot! — 9 days ago

@Tom Casagrande, I have always had a soft spot for St. Emilion, my favorite of all the Bordeaux communes (well, at least taking pricing into account)!!

Domaine du Pavillon de Chavannes

Cuvée des Ambassades Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2016

Redfruits, earthy, moderate structure, this seems mature and ready to drink, but is a nice Cru Beaujolais with moderate complexity. — 9 months ago
