Magnum 2014 PYCM Mersault Perrieres. K’s bday dinner at Rep. Awesome. — 7 years ago
Beautiful rep of Oregon Pinot noirs. Even better on day 2 — 7 years ago
This a great showcase of a grape that doesn’t always have a good rep. Certainly on the second day this wine was showing very well rounded and harmonious characteristics. Very fruit-forward with a pleasant scent. Would definitely buy again. — 8 years ago
Took a bit of a gamble given the rep for being very long lived. Opened t-8 hours and decanted 3+ hours. Still quite closed. You can get a sense of the depth of the fruit on the nose but overall it is veiled. The tannins are serious. Would never have guessed Beaujolais- one to let rest for many years. — 2 years ago
Ramisco varietal, borne in a sand terroir of Portugal region beginning to be overrun by hotels. It simply has become a favorite wine quickly; not cheap( about 40$ & up, usually they are 500ml bottles), gains in intensity with air. Fine grained tannins, wild red berries, lithe acidity. Low alcohol & has the rep for long range storage. God, I love this stuff. Very rare wine too, which of course adds to the allure. — 6 years ago
Earlier this week, a rep for Crown Point wines hosted a tasting to show off a few of their newer releases. New to me, they are out of Santa Barbara and have the duo of Adam Henkel (former assistant winemaker at Harlan for 8yrs) and Philippe Melka (who came on starting with the ‘15 vintage) making the wines.
This wine is their Estate Selection, which is 73% cab, 16% malbec and 11% merlot. I believe this was the first vintage for this wine. It sports a very soft profile and is made in a riper style. Aromatically it smells of baked boysenberry, fig and mixed berry pie with milk chocolate chips. The ABV is around 15.2% and it shows here. Extracted on the palate with chocolate covered dark fruits, baking spices, nutmeg and Andes mint. — 7 years ago
2002 Screaming Eagle. Dinner w D&M H at Rep. Awesome. Decanted just before serving. Vanilla, dark stone fruit, oak. So delicious. — 8 years ago
A well regarded 2014 vintage lives up to the rep. Beautiful deep burgundy colour, rich balanced tannins, round black cherry fruit and tobacco and leather. Beautifully smooth throughout with long, drawn out finish. Gorgeous. — 9 years ago

Interesting day. Oysters. Illahe rep. Networking. Running into my RSL boys. And now some shrimp poke from Ika. This should be a Friday. — 5 years ago

3L 1990 La Pergole Torte. K’s bday dinner at Rep. Fave red wine of the night. Better than 3L Chateau Canon and even the 1962 Vega (our if 750). — 7 years ago
Damn, that was delicious. Either talk to your Rosenthal rep, or ask your local wine shop to find this from Rosenthal, there is definitely some on the east coast. Smokin good. Probably some bottle variation but this cork was pristine and the wine was in great shape. — 7 years ago
Fruit forward, 🍒, raspberry, minerals, soil. Smooth drinking, rounded off with some tannins on this young wine. My bro brought it in from Laungdoc and it is a nice rep for the region, albeit on the pricier side for this super value region. I had Puech-Haut when visiting Montpelier years ago so it brought back some great memories. — 7 years ago
Almost like a rioja. Just a fab rep of Brunello from a nice vintage. Drinking beautifully. — 8 years ago
Nice balance and complexity (about 50% of the 2010 Troplong). Vanilla, raspberry on the nose and a nice juicy, jammy and plummy taste. Great merlot rep. — 9 years ago
Local store screwed up the pricing on this. The rep happened to be there and he let me know about it. Score! — 9 years ago

Surprisingly complete: a deeper, more detailed version of what essentially is a de classified Barbaresco,at least according to the importers rep at a wine tasting. Tangy black fruits, wild raspberries, a deeper note of creosote. Not disjointed or crazy tannic as some notes suggest; imagine its accessibility now suggests it still needs to be drunk young. — 2 years ago
