A nice straw colour to the wine. Flavours of green mango and unripe melon with a mineral crisp dryness on the tongue. The finish softens to faint honeysuckle and baked apple. This is my first Spanish white Garnacha and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I expect to look for more from this grape. — 7 years ago
Very fragrant nose of lime peel and lilac. Citrus acidity with a slight grapefruit bitterness. A very silky texture on the tongue. A bright clean finish without feeling sweet at all. Very nice. — 7 years ago
A wine of genuine remark. Barbera from old world vineyards in Pavia. A gorgeous pungent nose rightly suggests a little air once in the glass before tasting. The palette opens with lovely round dark blackberry and ripe currents contrasted with balanced leathery tannins. The finish dries out with an earthy, grassy finish. Wonderful with a hearty beef dish. Love this wine. — 7 years ago
A surprise Cote du Rhône with underlying fresh acidity which is difficult to achieve in the hot summers of the region. Typical Grenache fruit with fresh acidity that feel tannin’esque but finishes clean. — 7 years ago
A well regarded 2014 vintage lives up to the rep. Beautiful deep burgundy colour, rich balanced tannins, round black cherry fruit and tobacco and leather. Beautifully smooth throughout with long, drawn out finish. Gorgeous. — 7 years ago
Genuinely interesting nose of over-ripe plum and smoke...apparently typical of this South African specific pinotage grape. There’s a sweet freshness on the palette....plum, blackberry, no oak here and little or no tannins. A genuine deal at the price. Great for cooked meats but also drinkable on its own. — 7 years ago
Gorgeous nose full of flowers, honey, and peach. Fresh, crisp grapefruit pithy opening evolving and into a more complex mix of spices and sea salt. Lovely dry finish. A beautiful wine. — 7 years ago
Carmel yet still a touch acidity. Sweetness but leathery and a touch of smoke. Gosh it’s good. — 7 years ago
Plum, wild currents and pepper come though the nose. Some very balanced tannins countered by round dark red fruit with a dustbin too sour cherry finish. A surprisingly approachable, everyday Tempranillo wine. — 7 years ago

Bright, almost clear colour. Grass and green vegetable nose with expected citrus as well. Unripe pear and pithy citrus dominates with relatively low acidity and a long, long, long finish that dries out again with more vegetal and cut grass tones. A different take on NZ SB. Not particularly challenging but certainly a different approach. — 7 years ago
