2018 is losing its fruit, at the end of the window where hints and dried versions of fresh fruit and spices still hang around.

The nose shows candied orange peel, lemon peel, apricot, honey. The palate is showing a great acid drive, superb matter on the side, even a tiny thickness on the sides, some orange and orange peel notes, a big bright apricot note, some honey and then tannins in the rear that leave a gentle drying layer over a long orange peel, apricot, honeyed finish that goes on for ever. There is a tiny bitter note that blossoms in the very end. Complexity, texture, fruit, matter. This packs it all. The initial barnyardy notes blew off after a short while. Medium lemon yellow , fine bubbles . Quite restrained and mineral focused on the nose , then lemon confit , quince, touch of orange flowers, with some pastry notes , white flowers , honeysuckle also . Quite intense and mineral on the palate , fills out well with some lemon oil and pastry notes also , but this is reserved and elegant in style , more mineral , chalky and more intense than the 2013 had last week. Really refreshing acidity . Long and complex on the finish , I would imagine this needs more time than the 2013 too. Come back in 5 years , will show well for a further 10-15 years , perhaps longer. Unique amber color veering toward orange. Aromas of black and white tea, dried orchard fruit, white cranberry, earth, musk, and dried flowers. Complex. Very interesting. Reminds me more of an aged Pinot Noir than a white wine. — 5 days ago

Medium copper salmon colour . Slightly waxy dried orange , spiced wild strawberry , touch of resin , sea salt . On the palate this has more fruit , with touches of orange , spiced dried strawberry , roasted nuts, saline seaside hints , balanced acidity and elegant , refined personality. Intense and long , this is probably showing better and more complete than the 2011 I had a few weeks ago . Just starting to get going , but still with a long life ahead. 2014 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 45 mins. Medium body. Repping Stagecoach Vineyard right with some trail dust, cedar, ripe dark cherry and tobacco for punch. A really pleasant, subtle richness with the initial draw/flavors that deposited on the front palate. Nicely made, nicely done. Not a candidate for a Napa time capsule 30 years from now but tasted like it'll be showing well for the next 7-8 years. 05.09.25. — a month ago
