RP95Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A barrel sample, the deep garnet-purple colored 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Tierra Roja Vineyard comes bounding out of the glass with notions of ripe red plums, Morello cherries and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of pencil shavings, violets and camphor. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with “Juicy red and black fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins and background”. I can’t say it better than Parker! I always love Wine from Tor - Great vineyard source. — 13 days ago
Nose: cassis, cherry, spices…booze. Wet stone. A little leather. Raspberry leaf. Good flavors, but smells a little cheap and thin.
Taste: Pretty good. Medium weight +, silky, very fruit forward. A strong herbal cassis finish. 89-90. Not a “good deal”, but probably worth the $20. Reminiscent of a proper Napa Cab, imagine that! — 10 days ago
After visiting here last Fall, and leaving with more wine than any other visit (mostly due to their incredible white wines), this has been a fun wine to follow. This is my second to enjoy, and I think I have one left. For a 2014, this was pretty tightly coiled.
76 cab/24 cab franc. Love those percentages, especially from To Kalon. It certainly sports the classical powerful To Kalon flair with dominant black cherry and plenty of fragrant aromatics of violets and potpourri. Even after a few hours of bottle air, this remained tannic and slightly unyielding (very uncommon for 2014 valley floor Napa). At the end of the evening, it gave way to sweet pipe tobacco, black currant, dark spiced red fruits, and savory herbs. Hard to deny the powerful black cherry core that To Kalon normally sports. I’d hold for another 5yrs or decant 3+ hrs. — 11 days ago
Incredible Cabernet. Full of fruit with tannins firming it up. Great complexity . Drinkable now but can lay down for another five years or so — 21 hours ago

Simply awesome!! PnP. Dark purple color. Blue and black fruit with integrated oak and some anise. Deep wine with a medium plus finish. Great texture. Loved it! — 24 days ago
