Deep Ruby red color with pronounced aromas of berry fruits, spice and floral notes, blend from more than 40 different grapes from 90-year old vines. On the palate intense flavors of licorice and blackberry flavors, with earthy leathery notes, well balanced with lively acidity, full-bodied, big and well structured. Long finish, smooth tannins ending with cacao and rich sweet fruit tones. Very nice! Need to decant! — 7 months ago
This is outstanding! Camphor. — 9 months ago
Exactly the wine I want to drink when in Iceland eating lamb ribs at a Mediterranean restaurant. For being a very substantial red it has an unexpected ripe fruit taste. A little hint of grain or lentil on the nose and perhaps this hint of sumac is just wishful thinking based on the name of the restaurant? 😇 — 5 years ago
Delicious. 2016 vintage. Israeli wines stepping it up! — 7 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2015 “Soul of a Lion” pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of cassis, plum, purple flowers, Fresno chili, tobacco, leather, vanilla and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and silky. A fairly massive wine but there’s plenty of character to keep it unique and interesting. Drink now through 2035+ — 2 months ago
Opaque purple in color, Welch's grape juice, cedar, and anise on the nose. Palate is evolved and settled with muddled blue and blackberry. Definitely nods to Porto with a tawny hint. A bit hot on the alcohol (guessing 14.8 ABV). Wine is dry, medium minus acidity. Full bodied. A bit of bitterness keeps this from presenting a rounded mouth feel. Tannins non existent at this point. Good.

A lesson for the rest of Lodi to learn from. Fantastic — 3 years ago
Cloudy AF. Super sour in a way that matched the tartness and gaminess of a yogurt sauce on lamb meatballs. Ocean spray & hi-c juice. — 5 years ago

Costco, better than expected. — 7 months ago
Black currant, blackberry, and cherry, complemented by notes of chocolate, tobacco, spicy oak, and hints of lavender and graphite. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich. Espresso, and spices. Great tannins and a long, persistent finish. — 8 months ago
A bit disjointed. Heaps of oak then a bunch of acid on the finish. Missing the heart and soul of the wine. Had the ‘13 criot barard montrachet and I would rate that in the top 5 wines of my life. Maybe it needs more time? Madi LOVED it for the record. With schnitzel and gravy. — 3 years ago
