Syrah 70% / Cab Sauv 14% / PV 16%
Varietally fermented & aged. French oak (10-14 months), then assemblage.
Prominent roasted, smokey aromas, leather, blueberry, blackberry, menthol, coffee bean, clove, black pepper, dried violets, pencil shavings.
Ripe blackberry, blueberry, and plum; vanilla bean, cocoa nib, black pepper, crushed rock / graphite. Fresh acidity; tannins resolving nicely but still robust.
Drink now with food now or revisit in 2-3yrs. (Nb. variance has been a factor - some have peaked) — 2 months ago

Sweet almost sour, finish is strong and has cherry taste — 2 months ago
Consistently great wine. Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, dark berry, dark cherry, currants, cinnamon and spice, dark chocolate and smoked oak. On the palate, rich and full bodied, jammy fruits, dark berries and cherry, dark chocolate, hints of cinnamon, balsamic and espresso, smokiness/smoked oak. Long finish with hints of smoked citrus rind. Nice, chewy tannins. — 2 hours ago

Gotta agree with @Josh Morgenthau here. The reductive feeds, rather than detracts from, the structure and punchy evolution in your mouth. — 2 months ago

2019 vintage. A bit richer than expected. Slightly less grip than anticipated. This is a great wine “cheat code” for Spain and Rioja. Showing nicely now. 11.20.24. — 8 days ago
