Pretty damn Burgundian effort here. Sappy cherry fruit, almost cherry liqueur-like, forest floor, crushed rock, a little baking spice. Intense yet nearly weightless in the mouth. Tannin resolved, great acids. Surprisingly low alcohol (12.4%). Very nice. — 5 years ago
Perfection. 8,5%, perfect balance, fine minerals, low/medium Acidity — 5 years ago
Extremely fruit forward, low tannins, really good if you’re into that kind of thing. Black current heavy on the nose — 5 months ago
Tried 6mos ago. Began 1916, Juan Gil Giménez, great-grandfather of present generation, built winery in heart of Jumilla. Blue label spent 18 months in new oak (wine formally known as 18 mos representing time in bottle, now “Blue Label.” Monastrell, Cab Sauv & Syrah blend (60/30/10), low yield, aromas of red berry and toasty oak. Palate shows flavors of dark berry fruits, espresso, cacao and hints of sweet spice. Big dusty tannins, well integrated with oak, lingering, well balanced. Aged well, still going! — 5 years ago
The best low alc red wine out there — 5 years ago
Medium ruby , terracotta /garnet rim. Quite round and ripe , red plum , cigar and ripe blackberry, touch of soy . Touch of cocoa , blackberry and ripe dark cherry , black tea . Quite sweet , rich on the palate, generous for Las Cases , slightly dried fruit , fig and red plum . Pretty decent length , balanced but quite discreet acidity , rounded tannins . This is at peak now and I don’t see much up side from here , so best to drink over the next 5 years or so, though it did hold up in the glass quite well . Atypical for Las Cases with its ripe fruit, quite low acidity , sweet tannin: also this only has 42% Cabernet Sauvignon. Overall probably the least successful of the wines in this tasting , but the level overall was very high. — 6 months ago
This one surprised me. Good right out of the bottle. Delicate fruit notes and an excellent balance of tanins and sweetness. Low acidity and very easy drinking but did not get boring. Very good wine. — 9 months ago
Very smooth and well balanced merlot. Vanilla, plum, and cherry. Love the low acidity on this one. — 5 years ago

Though Piña Cellars is renowned for its powerful reds, this small-production Chardonnay from the Low Vineyard proves they know their way around white wines, too. Grown next to the famed Muir-Hanna Vineyard, the same fruit once used in Montelena’s legendary 1976 Paris Tasting Chardonnay, this wine is something truly special.
Quite different from the classic California butter-bomb, this bottling leans into elegance and precision. The nose opens with layers of honeysuckle, orchard fruits, brioche, and subtle spice. On the palate, white peach, apricot, and pear dance with delicate hints of hazelnut, all wrapped in a creamy, full-bodied texture.
Mouthfeel is plush and satiny, yet lifted by a refreshing acidity that keeps it vibrant through a long, graceful finish.
Still youthful, but showing beautifully now, this Chardonnay has the structure to age and evolve for years. A true showstopper, and a rare gem from a producer that usually flies under the Chardonnay radar. ✨🍐🥂 — 6 days ago
