lightning — 5 years ago
Beautiful wine. Silky, slightly smoky and easy to drink. So often you hear fruit forward, it is not. Fruit on the end makes it juicy and happy. 😎🍷🇺🇸 — 7 years ago
Lightning in a bottle. Crisp, clean, mineral bomb. AND ITS A SCREW TOP! From Tabula Rasa — 7 years ago
(koo dah foo drah) - The moment when "lightning strikes" or something unforgettable occurs. A blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cab Franc & 5% Petit Verdot, aged for 18 months on new oak. Fresh berry fruit aromas and exotic soft spice. On the palate sweet blackberry & cherry with vanilla spice and oak tones. Lingering ending with well balanced fruit spice and oak. — 8 years ago
Lightning struck eucalyptus bark - what a nose!
Licorice, mint, basil. Tar, tobacco, burnt barrel. This is a wine that will always calm my pre race jitters. The vintage was amazing.
Salted boysenberry popsicle sticks end this wine with a long, long lasting finish. — 8 years ago
Lightning level reduction and acidity. But with a warm body of integrated oak. Tasted Grand Cru level. So lucky to have experienced this. — 3 years ago
Very quaffable, but still impressive, showing the elegance of cabernet franc - blackcurrant, herbs, charmingly farm-like (not much, though, it’s no brett-monster at all). Acidity like lightning through the dark fruits, polished tannins. Pretty much perfect. Magnum bottle. — 7 years ago
Millo Vegas. Tastes like pudding @John Beasley. Crisp lightning @W — 8 years ago

Killer Chablis 1er Cru. An absolute lightning bolt of a wine, linear and acid-driven to be sure. Drinking awesome right now, the fruit is still quite primary but has obviously integrated a bit into the whole of the wine. Still has quite a life ahead of it tbh; I would have thought it was only a few years old rather than almost 8 if I hadn’t known beforehand. Bracing and mineral as you’d expect, with a great textural balance between cut and fleshiness.
- Color: bright, medium (-)/medium intensity straw-gold hue
- Nose: just-ripe starfruit, ripe green and yellow apple, an almost smoky crushed stone and chalk mineral character, lemon curd, oyster shell salinity, hard cheese rind leesiness, creme fraiche
- Palate: ripe green apple, ripe starfruit, lemon and grapefruit pulp, wet stone minerality and oyster shell salinity, hard cheese rind, creme fraiche
- Acid: high
- RS: bone dry
- Alcohol: medium/medium (+), not intrusive
- Body: medium (-) body; supple, oily texture from the sur lie elevage

Very light, dry, Pinot noir — 5 years ago
Like drinking lightning bolts ⚡️ Ripe green pear, white peach, tart citrus, zest and pith, citrus blossom, tea leaves, crushed chalk, a layer of spring honey just barely. Tense on day one with electric acidity. Day 2 showing more aromatic complexity and a kiss of breadth on the palate. So much acid and rocks. Day 4 still fresh as a daisy — 6 years ago
Tastes like lightning and berry pop rocks! Extremely funky at the beginning, fizzy. But opens up nicely! (Red & White) — 7 years ago
Good with BBQ, really brings out the pepper. Has really smoothed out, nice drinking. — 8 years ago

Red to dark red fruits, cherry, raspberry and pomegranate, garrigue, and singed black schiste stone/mineral notes, lavender florals too. The palate is medium bodied, with intense flavors that are lightning it's feet. I am a fan of Faugeres wines and it's rare for me to try a new one like this one. — 2 years ago
