Cherries, plum, and pepper. Nice S Rhone blend. Drinking beautifully now. J2 fav — 6 months ago
Blend of Grenache (70%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvèdre (10%). Dark ruby color with a garnet meniscus. Aromas of black berry/cherry fruit, purple flowers, leather, garrigue and dried herbs. Flavors of dried blackberry and red and black cherry fruit, tobacco, black pepper, red and black licorice and a bit of smoked meat. Medium-plus body and finish. Plus acidity, nice structure and nicely smoothed out tannins. Well aged and hitting its peak. Appreciate you opening this one, Ron B! — 9 months ago
These women know how to vinify! The vintage also was great! — 6 years ago

Palate: very nice. Good grip.

Very fresh and primary! Gorgeous fruit notes, delicate hints of stems, spices, minerals and garrigue. Medium-bodied and transparent in its presentation, lovely acidity all the way through the palate. Made me think Northern Rhone more than Southern.
Very interesting. — 5 months ago
Great. Had at Pasture in Cardiff Wales — 6 months ago
Cool simple bottle and label. A screw-top with class. Color is golden straw. Aromas of lemons and honey. Hint of freshly scrubbed flagstone patios. Flavors are lemon water, honeydew melon and jasmine tea. This is like all the good things in non-buttery Chardonnay mixed with the minerality and zing of Sauv Blanc. It’s fuller, denser and more elegant than most CA Chenin Blanc I’ve had. It’s also a white that seems to age nicely. If I could find it somewhere around here, it would join the short list for go to whites. — 8 months ago
Start to finish luxurious! Bouquet, color, and legs are amazing. Delicious with matured flavors of vanilla, apple, and a hint of pear! Finish is long and velvety. Enjoy!! — a year ago
@Ellen Clifford said it all 9 years ago and this is still going strong! Spicy, soulful, warming on an unseasonably cool spring night — a year ago

Amazing rich wine, well-balanced, at its prime! — 5 months ago
A great Gigondas at this price ($55). Not much tannin, but distinct leathery and earthy notes that distinguish it from the mine run. Good rec from Lower Falls. — a year ago

One of my bottles from my annual WWC hosting. Part of a Grenache flight (including ‘19 Rotie Cellars “Big G”, ‘19 Saint-Damien Souteyrades Gigondas, ‘18 Andremily Grenache).
80% Grenache/ 20% Mourvèdre
I’m a fan of this Gigondas producer and think the wines exhibit an excellent value. After the first two Grenache wines, we take a dark (profile) turn here. Classical garrigue, dark potpurri, and spiced blackberries aromatically, with some leather and tobacco as well. Dark black fruits dominate the palate surrounded by bitter dark chocolate, black pepper, hint of charcoal and mineral. Concentrated but not sweet. In a delicious window now but benefitted from the air it got…no rush. — a year ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2020 “Aux Lieux-Dits” pours a deep garnet with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of fresh, ripe brambles, garrigue, red flowers, and inorganic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. There is a solid sense of place from this expression. Drink now through 2035. — 5 months ago
