Very well-made reasoning from a great producer. It had all the classic elements of a great Riesling. Full mouthfeel, rich fruit, bracing acidity, and that petrol note on the nose. Just right for our salad, which had a a hummus dressing and watermelon with mixed baby greens. — 10 days ago

Erdener Treppchen Kabinett Mosel Riesling 2024
Superb nose with fresh white grape juice, squizzed lemon, lime zest, white flowers, a bit of chalk, too. The palate is gentle with some nice acid frame, lovely lemon curd, zesty and fresh white grape notes all along. It's almost slightly effervescent on the tongue, adding a subtle layer of complexity. A bit of width, some grip in the rear and a nice finish with the same fresh, citrusy, zesty notes that carry on for a while. We had it along a summer salad with Greek cheese, tomato, lettuce and olives and this was a great pairing. Fantastic value, as always. — 2 months ago

Star bright pale straw. Honeysuckle and ripe peaches in the inviting nose. Bright acidity on the medium palate which confirms the nose with a slight hint of smoke. Finish is naturally lengthy given the richness. Classic Mosel Kabinett Riesling from a well established and highly regarded producer. Dr. Loosen, Blue Slate, Riesling Kabinett 2025
A familiar wine now, a staple of my wine cellar which I'm always coming back to year in and year out. 8% abv, delicately off dry, pure German Riesling fun from the Mosel. There is an effervescent, slighlty petroly thing on the nose at first. My daughter told me it tickled and almost stung her nostrils. Behind it, you can smell lemon juice, lemon curd, a tiny touch of green apple, some pineapple, some honeysuckle and a bit of a minerally note (crushed rocks?) in the back. The palate is not as acid driven and fresh as in previous vintages, but the acid drive is doing its part and gives a frame to the wine. Lemon curd and green apple juice notes blossom all along, amidst a nice, sweet, delicate sweet note which creates a bit of layer turning into a grippy back palate in the rear. The finish is fresh nonetheless, with nice lemony notes and some nice persistance. This is a superb value, as always, even if I'd prefer more tension. Good stuff 👏
