Wet wool, some botrytis notes w honeysuckle and ginger — 7 years ago
100% Syrah from a plot in Tournon. Aged for 12-14 months in oak (10% new). Dark ruby color. Aromas of dark fruit, minerals (graphite), medicinal notes (menthol). Full-bodied, structured, relatively austere. Very elegant — 2 years ago
At the ramen shop the guys all the way in the kitchen could smell the wine just after we opened it 🤯 never had st Joseph Blanc like this. So complex and mineral and not forward with the fat fruit that viognier roussane or Marsanne can sometimes be. Great wine here to be sure — 5 years ago
Aussi bien sur une tarte flambée que sur une darne de saumon à la plancha et au gros sel... — 8 years ago
2022/7/12-14. Compared to the Joseph Colin Compendium, this was a bit fatter, richer and showed more oak influence (though certainly not excessive in that regard). There’s more smoky mineral in the nose - perhaps a bit of reduction as well - and a bit more juice and depth to the fruit. A few years to integrate more could make it even better. — 2 years ago
The oak, malo and oxidation at first give the nose a sweet cheesecake aroma, decadent but quite surprising. A powerful and consistent bead of bubbles. After an hour it came together with some air perfectly, morphing into the low dosage beauty that it is.
736 is a blend of 53% Chardonnay, 29% Pinot Noir and 18% Pinot Meunier.
Fun fact: Johann-Joseph Krug, the founder of Krug, left house Jacquesson in 1843 to found the great Champagne house Krug. — 8 years ago
Extraordinaire spécialement sur une tarte flambée et après 18 km de marche...:-)) — 9 years ago

Drinking with Mom, Dad, and Emily in France at Alain Jaume! Apparently this is 100% Syrah. Color is purple red for sure. Nose is smokey with maybe some caramelized sugar? The taste is very spicy, leather and smooth. It is very good. — a year ago
