W. & J. Graham's

Vintage Port Blend 1983

A really good bottle of 1983 Graham’s, but it shows the tannic structure of the vintage and, also, the lack of traditional Graham’s sweetness makes the alcohol stand out; with that all said, still an enjoyable bottle of aged vintage Porto!! — 19 days ago

Aged 10 Years Tawny Port Blend

burnt red translucent appearance, strong whisky bouquet, flavors of honey with sweet ripe red grape and plum — after trying a dark chocolate, tasted nutty and smooth; buttery — 2 months ago

Wallufer Walkenberg Spätlese trocken Riesling 2021

Compared to the last Becker dry Spatlese tasted, this was less inviting: a bit more mineral & stony, with none of the fruit flavors associated with Riesling to be found. Very chiseled & imagine needs time in bottle/ long decant. You can still taste the precision though. — 3 months ago

Hilltop Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Quite tannic and a little closed on opening which obscures the fruit so didn’t drink much the first night, but what a difference a day makes. Opened to great fruit & structure with good long finish — 3 months ago

Age that Fruh! At 10 this is really coming into its own Gorgeous nose of wet earth, spice and desiccated leaves and tree bark. An interesting citrus note as well. So expressive. Just a stunning nose. The fierce tannins of this have calmed down and it’s an ultra silky and has superb concentration and awesome mid season cherry fruit and some blackberry overtones. Sweet tannins and exceptional length. Air is always this wine’s friend. — 2 months ago

Magdalena Vineyard Riesling 2020

Slight lemongrass bouquet. Slight and subtle fresh aromas.

Bought two of these so I could taste one after some years.

Super balanced. A rush of fresh effervescence and meadow like palate. Blades of supple grass, a beautiful chew, bracing acidity balanced with nice mineralogy.

Very elegant. And quaffable. Slight petrol note towards the end but nicely accentuates the overall expression of Riesling.

Pure Paso Proprietary Red Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2020

I love this blend. I’m a big fan of J. Lohr and came across this bottle in Costco. It’s soft, fruity, but bold. Smell notes of chocolate, strawberry. Tastes of licorice, plum, cinnamon. I’m sure this would be even more fantastic to cellar. — 3 months ago
