Unassuming. Strict, quiet, barely there aromas of gunpowder, white flowers, blanched almonds. The pale hay colors suggest this is light and easy. It’s not.
It’s 14.5% - fatty oily, type A introvert of a wine.
Slightly hot, we get yellow peach, jasmine, almond. Drink this at cellar temp and drink slow, as she charges quick. — 4 years ago
so concentrated it is introvert now.....great potential — 6 years ago
I was surprised at the lack of positive ratings for this Cab. Really big fresh fruit flavor that I really enjoyed during pre-dinner apps. — 9 months ago
Vintage 2016 / made of #arinto and #chardonnay / from #portugal #penínsuladesetúbal / it’s a bit introvert with a shy mineral smell with hazelnut, but it’s charme is the vibrant taste with a tiny sweet touch. Definitely my favorite Spring white wine! — 7 years ago
About every quarter or so i get to try a wine which just strikes me like thunder - this is such a wine. This one has a story (I met Pacalet in Encinitas - a total introvert but genius and bought 6 bottles). Earth, autumn leaves, iron, hint cherry, tannins fully resolved. Tamarind? Touch tumeric. A wine at its peak. 🍑 Peach!!! Heaven on earth what a wine! — 7 months ago
Updated review...
The bottle has been open in my fridge for 1 week and it’s hit a new level... exploding with lots of tropical fruits and the oak playing a buttery supporting role. Fantastic. Preview of good things to come. 9.1 —> 9.3
These are my notes from night 1:
Oak. Pineapple and some preserved lemon. Mineral, only a touch oily and subacid on the palate, though probably not by Rhone white standards. Pretty introvert. Well-measured, but the elements haven’t come together yet. No fireworks at this point in its evolution. — 5 years ago

Slightly lighter ruby with a wider ruby garnet rim . More reserved and cooler , more elegant , spicier fruits than the Mouton , less plush. Cassis , violet , blackberry , red cherry , roasted red pepper , grafite and oyster shell . Quite detailed and mineral. On the palate this is finer boned and elegant with refreshing acidity , cassis , tobacco , grafite and that briny , sea shell note . Saline and very fine , but also very noticable tannins on the palate , long grafite , tobacco , cassis tinged finish . This comes across as very classic Lafite , with drier , cooler fruit; more introvert than the extrovert Mouton. It doesn’t shout, there is no need , its refinement and pedigree are clear to all. Still young but beginning to show some development, better in 5-10 years and will last well another 10-20 , and being Lafite , perhaps even longer . As an aside this was paired with seared duck breast , port wine sauce and roasted figs , a combination that really worked with the wine , it was just a fantastic combination. — 11 days ago
