Tasted alongside the 2013 vintage. Both wines were opened about eight hours in advanced and allowed to slow-ox at cellar temp (51°F). Comparatively, this was initially more reticent. Eventually, after letting it sit in the glass for about 30min and coming up to temp, damp earth (decomposing leaves), potpourri, sea breeze, mushrooms, and sandalwood on the nose. Cherry, black tea, and dried herbs on the palate. Towards the end of the bottle, this was gaining momentum and rivaling the 2013 in terms of enjoyability. Hold’em if you got’em. Better after 2025. — a month ago
Lovely bright color, citrus pallette and fine finish. Light nutty nose. $13.99 Draegars. — 8 days ago
Rich aroma of blueberry, cherry, and blackberry; bouquet of some oak and hint of anise if you search for it; surprisingly smooth tannin for 2018. $22 from BGarden — 9 days ago
Wonderful Nebbiolo based red from the Piedmont region of Italy. Extensive sour cherry fruit aromas and flavors with notes of leather, organic soil, black licorice, and pepper spice. Brick colored with classic Nebbiolo tannin structure. A bit lighter and more acidic than Barolo, but still bold and beautiful. Time has been very good to this vintage. Thank You Ron B! — 8 days ago
Young and fresh from the glass with black cherry, cranberry, roses and poppy. Great vintage holding up phenomenally! Black and bing cherry palate with soft, textural black olive, bright raspberry, lingonberry and catalyst salinity. Juicy! Great acidity makes this seem so young in every way, the only hint is a slight fade to brick, but mostly unvarying rim to rim.

This was the 1st vintage from this producers single vineyard plot. “Le Due Porte” with only 2200 btls made. Notes of cherry, plum fruits, dried herbs, licorice & tobacco, silky mouthfeel that needs a few more years in the cellar. — a month ago
