I found this bottle delicious. Did not know the varietal and terroir very well, and of course I picked a natural wine to get started. I found it beautiful, frank, feminine, vibrant and sensual, surprisingly fruity with red fruits nose and floral aromas. After three years in the cellar, the tannins are firm but quite integrated, the fruit ripeness and the acidity are perfectly balanced. I'll go for a deep dive with this producer ! — 25 days ago

Really smooth and silky Syrah from Tuscany, which represents the grape variety really well. There are some clove plum black fruit pepper cinnamon. It's quite obvious that this wine has some aging potential.

Il Bugiardo Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2015

Excellent Ripasso, properly made. The grapes aren’t just aged on old skins. Instead, about half the grapes are dried in the sun for a month, just like an amarone, blended with fresher grapes, then aged on old amarone skins. The addition of juice from dried grapes lends an elegant silkiness and depth that I find missing from many other Ripassos. The wine is lively and full with dark fruit and spice. Hints of sweetness can be detected as the wine glides over the palate into a beautiful finish. Well done! 2015 vintage on Jan 30, 2020 — 7 days ago
