One of the best Merlots I have had. 19 years young beauty from Italy. Received as a gift many years ago. Way above my wine budget price pt. — 3 years ago
I finally had the chance to open a bottle of Lacryma Christi rosso this evening and was not disappointed. Fresh red berries on the nose, along with some herbs and spice. On the palate, dark fruit and vanilla notes, along with sweet tannins. So good! 85% Piedirosso, 15% Aglianico. 4/9/23. — 2 years ago
Very nice- had the 2019 bottle and it was about 10 bucks better than I paid for it that’s for sure. Delicious on its own but good with chick wand lighter fare too. — 3 years ago
Excellent

It's austere, but that's why you bought a taurasi. Dried flowers, boysenberries, raspberries. Almost like an amarone. Well made; I think average score a tad low. Better than the 2016. — 2 years ago
First sips were disappointing in the brevity of the hit on the palate. Gave it an hour and it lengthened beautifully. This wine has a ton of fruit (crushed sweet red berries), velvety tannins, and great structure. I would be fascinated to see what 10+ years does to it — 3 years ago
Single cru vineyard, 60y old vines grown on volcanic tuff.
Beautifully floral & expressive on the nose with bright cherry, cedar wood, exotic spices, a touch of dark plum, a pronounced note of crushed, volcanic rock. Showing first hints of evolution but so bright & alive. Amazing, I could be smelling this forever.
On the palate this is a stunning contradiction. Brutish & seemingly rough yet so elegant & charming at the same time.
The unforgiving tannic grip so juicy, slowly mellowing, showing the polished quality below the brute force. The acidity cutting across with citrus freshness, a mineral core underneath the dark fruit, which is filling the edges in th back.
This is a stunner, slowly peaking at 8y of age.
A truly beautiful, profound wine. No wonder they call Taurasi the Barolo of the south. — 3 years ago
