After Hercules vs Vampires — 6 years ago
A show of force for basic Chablis and a preview of the craziness that is the wines made from better terroir. Incredible weight concentration and force. A bit of a baby Hercules at present. My guess is that it will calm down in a year or two. Amazing producer. Bought from Fass selections. 30 minutes later. ... the immense fruit acidity and minerality integrate. Wow. Insane. Maybe the best basic Chablis. One of the best entry level whites in burgundy. These wines need time or a big Decant. Hercules in a bottle. He needs time to stretch after being let out. — 7 years ago
This is unknit right now. Baby Hercules. Nose is still a bit woody. But if you peer under the covers it has it all. Dense fruit. Spice. Acidity. Length. Clings to the palate. Awesome texture. A thing of beauty. This rating is a low end of what this should be. The freshness of this wine given the density is astounding. Crazy dense length. Like squint your eyes in disbelief length. It should be epic in 2-3 years. One if the great vineyards of Europe. Old school. Bought from fass selections. — 5 years ago
Love the Hercules hops in this IPA — 6 years ago
This has gone from baby Hercules to brilliant but slightly spastic toddler. The genius is evident but the wine is in an awkward phase. You can tell it has the stuff of over the top greatness from the nose which ... sadly is indescribable. It’s has this lovely slightly rich perfumey thing going on. On the palate it has that awesome Lechet fruit. Great acidity and nicely mineral. Nice juicy finish. But there is an extra richness and depth just under the covers. If you bought this. I’d hold for two years. And thank the wine gods that you bought it. Fabiens wines will be only for the rich some day. Buy as much as you can store. Bought from Fass Selections. — 6 years ago
Intensely mineral nose, like Hercules wrung our the rocks. Deep citrus pith and green apple fruit too. So intense and mineral in the mouth. Salty. Very little fruit, but still a friendly style. Gorgeous! Nice treat to have my bro open this after a hellish 9 hour trip from DC to West Hartford . — 6 years ago
Needs an hour decant at least at this point. My guess is it needs 2 years to really strut its stuff. A baby Hercules. Incredible coiled power at this point. You can feel it more than taste it. Incredible spice. Lemon pith. Mineral. Petrol. Really saturates the palate. Hints of green Apple but mere hints. Has a weight like Kellers hubacker but more restrained. Almost like really really great meursault. A new Star is born. Stock up. — 6 years ago
Very smooth. Little bit of sweetness that gives the smoothness. Very well made, I quite enjoy it. — 7 years ago

54/27/19 blend of petite sirah, petit verdot and teroldego. Dense purple red. Floral, blueberry and blackberry aromas, blackberry jam, and black pepper finish. Some seed tannins, decant. After two hours, skin tannins get grippy, yet varietal flavors remain well expressed; you can taste the petite Sirah and petit Verdot in there, though I really am not familiar with teroldelgo as a varietal. Worth drinking just to see the future of world wines as growers continue to shift to new varieties that grow and express well with global warming — 3 months ago
