Jun 13th, 2020Either I kept this a little too long or it’s a slightly off bottle. (I’ll check later but I believe I had and really enjoyed a bottle of this a few years ago.) Nose has some nice brothiness but is subdued. A teeny bit of premox. Round in the mouth, but a bit flat - particularly for a 14 — and, again, showing a note of premox. With my sensitivity to oxidation I should know not to tempt fate.

May 4th, 202016-20 years ago I was shunning Chardonnay, now in retrospect I'm fully convinced I was simply trying to like the wrong stuff. In the late 90's there was a great proliferation of heavily oak influenced CA Chardonnays to choose, they were every place within reach at every shop. Had I started with Chablis, likely my take on the grape would have evolved more respect earlier in my palate development.
Fast forward to recent times, and I simply can't get enough of white Burgundy. The diversity and complexity of flavors, all derived from the growing environment, still astounds.
The bottle at hand is likely my favorite Chardonnay from anywhere, in the sub-$30 price point.
Nose of a distant seashore, lemon skin, lemon squeezed over flint, slate and granite slabs. (I'd really like an oyster right now!)
Palate is lemon-y tropical fruits, limestone dust and citrus pith, so rich with a med-long finish.
Chablis...So Good! If I were to ever write the manifesto of the Chardonnay fan, it may begin with Léchet fruit.

Wow. Elite tier Chablis. Yes it has fruit. Massively yummy Chardonnay fruit. I mean. It’s lechet. But it has acidity the fights toe to toe with the fruit for attention and creates insane tension on the palate. Really lively richness. Nose is nutty and rich. Long rich lingering finish. Wow. If you a like white burgundy and are not collecting this you are leaving dollar bills on the sidewalk. Bought from Fass Selections. ... hint of lemon pith creeping in as this aerates. Just that knife edge of richness and tartness. Wow.

Bought from Fass selections. ... as this opens it becomes more geeky. This insane mutherf&$!$& minerality. Just granitic. Wow. I hope I have more of this. Should age well.

1 person found it helpfulDec 21st, 2018Fantastic. Richness. Citrus. Mineral. Dense. Wow. Bought from Fass Selections. ... getting better. This is just a really dense masterpiece. Served with Thai chicken curry and more than holding its own. .. . Pretty much maxxing out on the deliciousness scale. Very good complexity but a tick behind the deliciousness or this would be even better.

Amazing tension on the palate and super intense with great balance and so much acid. Long almost tactile finish that clamps down and grips your palate like a vice. Awesome.
