1971 vintage. Bottom shoulder fill initially had me worried. Decanted and tasted immediately and after two hours. Absolute ton of sed more appropriate for a vintage port. This was banging. Light-medium body. Chunky frontal palate. Plenty of charcoal in the mid-palate with some surprising freshness on a longer than expected finish. Not getting better but feel it can stay the current course for a spell (4-5 years). This was from a 750ml format but a larger format would undoubtedly be an upgrade. La Mission HB is a fave property and this reaffirmed those feelings. 10.13.23 — 2 years ago
Wintergreen fresh nose with clove and ginger, peppermint and chocolate, peppercorn and mint. Bright and pine-y.
Cinnamon heat, Barolo tar and roses, clove and orange citrus, ginseng sweetness, and cinnamon oil with frankincense aspirations. Gorgeous seasonal offerings that warm the body and soul.

Hb Wine. Yum! — 8 months ago
Living clove and dried allspice meet mint and sweet tobacco. Grill kebabs, with ginger and ginseng wafting. Spicy plum and juicy raspberry. Rich plum palate resonates with rhubarb and light cedar, blue spruce and tart cherry. Structured and layered, with enticing spicing. Red apple peel, tart blueberry and roobios cap the experience.

Intense old cow leather, silken mouth feel, tawny dark. Pretty great and my first HB looking forward to more! At Le Chat Botté — 3 years ago
Tasted blind. Deep, dark amber tinged and tawny color. Hits me immediately as a gravel-influenced Bordeaux and I’m am in Graves with my guess. Notes of tobacco, graphite, ash, earth and gravel stone. Big shoulders, and a little hot. Yet silky in the mouth. I guess 82 La Mish HB. This has plenty of life in front of it, but give it 5+ hrs of air if consuming in the near term as the provider of this wine did. — 5 years ago
