This is your #riesling if you’re not a fan of the petrol / diesel notes, once this has had a chance to breathe a bit. While I don’t mind those, this is a nice alternative terroir expression - subtle floral and peach notes on nose. @Kurt Schuster is spot on with the crystalline descriptor. The palate is more about the luscious fruit texture backed by sturdy acidity and a touch of RS rather than a lot of complexity. Where else can you get #grandcru #alsaceriesling other than #costco for ~$18? — a year ago
Light in colour with green-silver shine.
Nice reduction in the nose with toasted sesame, salty popcorn, ripe yellow peach and exotic fruit + a whiff of herbs. Fresh & juicy.
On the palate this is nicely rounded with layers of fresh peaches & pineapple and salty, mineral notes.
This has nice depth & complexity yet remains elegant & is (already) drinking beautifully. But I’ll stock up & see how it evolves.

Just under a 9.0 because Zweigelt is not my favorite varietal. That said, this is the best of many Zweigelts in the CHF 20 price range that I have tried. Nice depth compared to many others. Kind of like, when in Austria, I would totally order this wine at a restaurant! — 4 years ago
