Very sweet. Can really taste the Concord grapes. 2014 — 10 years ago
Über-bubble, if-just hazed, loose ocean foam, goes poof!, then just nebulae. Oily lacing of misfit moustaches. One swirl, though, and instant star nursery. Tangelo-lemon goodness blasts from the glass! Pure tropical mango from the tree. Grapefruit aspirations. Equally bright palate with the focus on a mineral-citrus that finds the perfect palatial trajectory, and sticks the landing on four hops. Namely, Mosaic for the baptismal tesserae, Citra for the gilded apse, Hallertau Blanc for the hallowed ground, and galaxy for the space between. Amen to the combo. Tartaric reverberations through a briny air, really quite evocative. This tastes the way Florida sometimes smells just after a rain. Tropical and saturated, but clean and spring-y. Jasmine, sweet grapefruit pith, lime and lemon. Really a great beer! .

Very nice, typical NZ boutique beer, hoppy, bright and fresh — 10 years ago
Smooth, slightly sweet, with mild vanilla and leather notes. — 5 years ago
This wine offers the generosity of a quiet benefactor and the restraint of an elder statesman. If I am not careful, I might fall in love with Zinfandel all over again! — 9 years ago
Celebrating an occasion tonight that called for the favorite champagne of an incomparable statesman. First impression- delightfully tickles the nose. Complex flavors would pair well with food, but we enjoyed it on its own. Classic! — 10 years ago

Green gold with an ethereal arc. Champagne streamers and finest mousse. Jack Frost has nothing on this lacing. Indelibly icing. Briny nose with honey notes, golden apple, frozen plum, pie crust, arugula, beeswax, and wheat germ. Glorious hoppyness shows lemon peel, pink and white wildflower sprays ultimately superseded by a bitterness that strikes just the right tempo. There is a natural mineral impression of gold flake, pine nut, and resinous oils abound. The lacing is glued. Such complexity in the hop arrangement here. Parsley, dried apricot, tarragon, sprouts, hay, bay and even a light and zesty jalapeño. Fantastische!
