There has been a resurgence at this estate and this wine is why. Stunning nose of wild flowers, amazing clarity here. Superb meatiness. But also floral to the point of a kink. It’s exaggerated but you cannot resist. Superb. But under all the florals is a serious mineral/granite that is so refined and elegant. Wow, so elegant, juicy and refined but also a wild edge. Stephan vibes here. Minerals comes out as intense as florals now. This is a crazy wine. Super olive as well. Great concentration and power. Depth is great. Just awesome. A totally awesome wine. This is a very tasty Syrah from Mendocino County, California.

Showing black fruits with oak, vanilla, chocolates, tobacco, spices, barnyard, earth, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 100% Syrah is good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours of airtime. Tannins show up after a couple of hours.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats, cheeses and fresh berries.

14% alcohol by volume.

Nose has honey, honey, honey, warmed honey, honeycomb, white flowers, waxy green pear, waxy limestone, orange blossom, candied pineapple, bruised yellow apple, over-ripe green apple with excessive tree hang, resinous oak and (light) green banana peel.

Palate has honey glazed orange peel, dried lime zest, candle wax, honey drizzle over candied pineapple, lime wedge, dry red clay, lemon poundcake and chamomile tea, but the level of acidity is amazing, like lime orchard honey! WOW! Finish runs 2m+ and lingers longer.

100% Romorantin, best bottle of this one ever! 🤯
