Characteristic wine from Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, Mexico. Expressive dark fruits, spicy, earthy and a jammy edge. Pairs perfectly with the corn, beans and mole in Mexican dishes. No wonder why they call Mexican wines the next Tequila! Want to learn more about wines from Valle de Guadalupe? Bright gold with coppery overtones. Unctuous nose of honey, dried apple., and clay! Palate is full and complex yielding layers of dried apple, white flowers, burnt marzipan, hay, and cinnamon bark. Acidity is firm from entry to finish. Finish is long and recalls the earthier earlier flavors. Wow. I may not think of Vermentino the same way. A complex, layered white with enough "stuff" to compliment a wide range of foods from seafood to poultry to (yes) lighter cuts of beef. Drink now through 2027. — 4 years ago
Medium ruby in color; plums, bell peppers, and paprika on the nose; medium acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like raspberries, jalapeño, and wet slate with a long finish. It's a really interesting flavor. It's not for everyone, but well made. I like it. — a year ago

WOTN at a Tuscan tasting last Thursday, though not my vote. Really nice and unique expression of Sangiovese (100%). Bright red cherries, a little oaky bitterness, mint and some light herbs. But mostly the cherries. No chocolate, no cola. Very light and fruity. Most unique is the unmistakeable taste of orange soda on the finish. Very good!
