The Rock Salt Chardonnay 2019

Quite reductive. Citrus/mineral nose. Saline, lemon-lime/mineral accord. Great texture. Long finish. This really blossomed over 5 hours. First bottle from this producer. Lovely work. — 5 days ago

Broken Rock Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

The Wine Foundry Broken Rock Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, California

It's time for my
#FridayCabernetfix. Here is a gorgeous one from the great 2013 Napa vintage.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim. Not showing much age.

Gorgeous nose of blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, raisins, figs, chocolates, cedar, light vanilla, coffee, licorice, light earth, tobacco, wildflowers, Mediterranean spices and a touch of pencil lead.

Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black cherries, black plums, oak, vanilla, tobacco, licorice, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn and earth.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich, elegant and very tasty. Fruit forward with a beautiful nose.

This 8 year old aged very nicely and is drinking wonderfully now. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

Good right out of the bottle, and so much better after 3 hours in the decanter.

Spicy with a soft mouthfeel. Shows nice complexity and balance. I just love these Napa Bordeaux blends.

A good wine to sip on all by itself, but good with food as well. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot and 3% Petit verdot. Aged for 28 months in (70% new) French Oak barrels. A small production of only 108 cases.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$115.

The Palindrome California Tannat 2016

Beautiful dark purple color. Great dark fruit on the nose. The tannins are very nice and balanced as you would expect from a california tannat. Again lots of fruit and a hint of tobacco with a pleasant lingering finish. Wish I had bought more! — 11 days ago

Stone Flat Vineyard Chardonnay 1577

Love the aromatics. Great wine. The top of the cork crumbled but the rest of the cork held ok and there was nothing wrong with the wine. Bought it at the winery tasting room in April 2021. — 12 days ago

Turtle Rock

G2 Vineyard Red Blend 2018

Predominantly Syrah (91%) with some grenache and mataró. Stunningly beautiful wine. Voluptuous in the mouth. Lush red and black fruit. Silky smooth, mellow tannins. If you enjoy Rhone blends, you will enjoy this.

$67.72 from Turtle Rock tasting room.
