Happy New Year Delectable!
Double decant and pour. A splendid tawny red color. On the nose: dark fruit, cigar ash, cedar, smoked meat, pencil shavings, mint. Taste: soft, silky, elegant, still fresh wine with dark red fruit, worn leather, graphite, loamy soil, spiced herbs, minty black tea and a dry medium finish. YUM! What a fun wine to end 2024 with. A wine bought at auction, and a cork which was not in the best shape, so not sure if this is a true representation of where this wine is at.

Juicy and tart red fruits. Well balanced, medium bodied with some funk. — 4 months ago
Continuing quest to taste as many 22’s as possible.
Beautiful honeysuckle notes, Meyer lemon and spring flowers on the nose.
The palate show a good presence of Meyer lemon right at the top. Butterscotch notes, honeysuckle-honey comb, apricots, yellow peach, ripe, syrupy pineapple, cream, slivered almonds, saline, flinty notes, limestone marl, toast, some soft white spices, lots of moist to mushy chalk, yellow & spring flowers, excellent, round acidity and a well made, elegant, round, lush, finish that lasts 90 seconds landing on spice & minerals.
This will merit another point of two with appropriate age but still hard to justify $240 a bottle. The strong lemon presence needs time to calm. — a month ago

1 hour decant. A majestic dark garnet color with some bricking. On the nose: perfumed fragrant notes of dark plum, currants, creme brulee, herbaceous, eucalyptus, wet forest floor. Taste: silky, creamy, wonderful coat your palate wine with red plum/cherry, that Cos spice, mineral, graphite, worn leather, and a smokey chocolate coffee medium plus finish. YUM! — 22 days ago
Clos des Forêts is a monopole of Domaine de l’Arlot in the commune of Premeaux-Prissey. It’s located south of Les Saint Georges with Les Didiers directly in between and planted exclusively to Pinot Noir.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2021 “Clos des Forêts” pours a bright ruby with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with tart forest strawberries, tart brambles, cranberries, orange rind, charming old-world notes of horse blanket, mushrooms, sous bois, and soft warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and deliciously savory. I realize the 2021 vintage isn’t for everyone but I find the wines to be charming and this was a lovely example. Drink now through 2036. — 6 months ago
Part of a Chateau Mouton Rothschild vertical from 1988-1990. Early on, this was a probably my favorite of the three Moutons and showed well throughout the course of the evening. Expressive red and dark forest fruits with tobacco, leather, earth and baking spices. The structure was still showing its tensile strength. This has a long life ahead. Drink now through 2040. — 2 months ago
Inky fruit purple garnet. To organic, wet forest floor. Great minerals and river stones. — 4 months ago

Very good - lemon and citrus forward with some green banana, brioche, vanilla and herbs. Dry and linear. Sharp acidity. Maybe a bit overpriced. — 14 days ago
