Little boozy and simple but good. And pricey. — 4 years ago
Zoom. 24 hrs open (chilled) and hitting gorgeous apricot notes, honeysuckle blossom, and a little canned peach nectar, a champagne-like aftermath - brioche! from where? - then acidic mouthwatering waterfall of a finish. perfect quarantine companion - so long as you have nothing much else to do! — 5 years ago
Everything a red from the south of France should be: tight and plush, med+ body, red and black fruit, cassis, wet stones. Total throw back. Lovely. — 10 months ago
Nice red ruby color, dried prune, black pepper, dried tomatoes, very smooth attack, then structured and a very fresh finish. Great balance. Top Mourvèdre ! — 5 years ago
Woody, syrupy and absolutely centrally tongue focussed. Viognier dominated. Different, but very enjoyable. — 6 years ago
Clos Payrol was once a small side project of Philippe Baillarguet from Chateau Ausone made from a tiny vineyard located on the plateau next to the church. Next to nothing is made, maybe 100 cases a year which makes it even smaller than Le Pin. The 2010 pours a deep ruby/purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with heady notes of ripe black plums, purple flowers, tobacco, leather, mushrooms, and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose with the added note of Flintstones vitamins on the medium+ finish. A lovely Pomerol that’s drinking very well at this stage and should continue to gain secondary character, drinking well through 2035. It should be noted, Vinobles K took over Clos Payrol in 2015 and it’s now known Enclos Payrol. Production remains also small that they don’t even bother marketing it. — 10 months ago
Great light flavor with a bit of minerality — 5 years ago
The second label of Grand Enclos du Château de Cérons. 60% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Sauvignon Gris.
Nicely balanced, gentle and pretty, fresh lemony and herbacious notes, rounded by honey notes and a touch of wax. — 5 years ago

Golden Tourmaline body with a frosty top of fresh mountain pow. Freckled blob monster in undulating dissolution lacing. Lemon puddings and lime leaves with a single granule of frozen white pepper whose presence informs the palate initially before your maw is awash in citrus zested pretzel bread with signature salinity. Softness and sweetness are not the centerpiece, but a nod to beer is here and I appreciate this element most of all.
