Vintage 2019 | Tasted blind | This sucks. I tasted this wine twice last six months. It is my cellar. Did not recognize it. It is too young. It suffered from the wine that we tasted next to it, a beautiful pinot noir from North Italy. Light colour. Licorice and caramel. Little sweet touch in the mouth, nice bitters, still strict because of the tannins. Will become a beauty within 3 - 5 years. — 10 days ago

Vintage 2016 | when I bought this in Germany, I asked how long it would last. The Ahr is not known for Riesling, do not keep it too long, was the answer. Wrong answer, imo. This wine is now delicious with awesome sweet/acidity balance. Great! — 3 months ago

Vintage 2022 | This is the basic Pinot noir of the cooperation Mayschoss Altenahr in the Ahr, the oldest in the world. Ridiculous price and só lovely, bottled raspberries and elegance. Dry. Went back to the Alte Wache in Freiburg i. Breisgau. What a City! Had this with a Matjeshering Sandwich. Food made the difference - this is a match in heaven. Perfect with salty oily fish. I always pair Matjes herring or any pickled version with Riesling. Classic Kabinett, mandarine, faint diesel really just a touch, surprisingly some tannins - smidgen tart. Lemon 🍋. — 9 months ago
