Fine and detailed. Light bodied, detailed but lacking a bit of complexity and weight. — 2 months ago

A very energetic mouthful, somehow ripe and pulling it own weight (with acidic towing equipment) so you don’t feel the weight but you know it has a body, like me in an empire waist dress. Zingy ripe raspberry makes friends with preserved lemon while white toast and white pepper duel it out as to who is the loudest (but not the whitest we know the toast wins that). Really a delicious steal from Tasmania. — 7 months ago
Decent example, not much complexity. — 14 days ago
Stunning pinot and testament to how Tasmania has benefitted from climate change and now taken its place at the top of Australian pinot, along with Yarra, Geelong, and Mornington. The nose is all dusty cherry and deep savoury spice. The palate is elegant, but the impact and concentration of dark cherry fruit is what makes this special. A hint of herbal/vegetal whole bunch. Then the savoury sandalwood kicks in and does not give up. One of the longest finishes i can remember. Cracking. — 3 months ago
Cracking pinot. The nose is reminiscent of Central Otago - darker fruit, spice, and earthy notes, but the palate is fresher, with red fruit coming to the fore. Really good mid palate, and enough fine tannin and acidity to lengthen the finish. Smokey, earthy aftertaste. Really very fine. — 6 months ago
Really impressive weight and balance. The high pitched red fruit and savoury tones provide freshness and balance the darker brooding savoury structure. — 2 months ago
Strawberry and a sour savoury note on the nose. High pitched red fruit with a slightly medicinal character. Good weight and concentration on the mid palate. Some wood spice. Solid without being showy. — 4 months ago
Rich and luscious - ripe red and black fruits. It’s a funny thing how full bodied this wine is which comes from one of the most southerly (cold) vineyards (Huon Valley Tasmania) in Australia. We visited there a few years ago and had lunch. Medium to full bodied with sweet black cherry flavours but I might have gotten the Food/wine match wrong - too floral and pretty perhaps to go with venison. I should have chosen Syrah or a GSM - an excellent wine nevertheless. — 6 months ago
