There are two kinds of st Joseph. This is one of the good ones. Long finish. Complex. Quite serious. — 12 days ago

Les Ribaudes Saint-Joseph Syrah 2021

Awesome. Inky color, Pepper, beef jerky, boysenberry, cured meats, dried herbs, prunes and nice acid. Would love to see this in 10-years. — 9 months ago

Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah

First note: black pepper galore. As it opens the pepper dissipates, leading to dried flowers and chalky earth. Under-notes of cherry. Great acidity with moderate tannins. — 2 years ago

Saint Joseph Blanc Marsanne Roussanne Blend 2019

Popped and poured; no formal notes. This is a hugely floral wine; yellow flowers and honey suckle. Low-ish acid. Lovely with brandade. — 3 years ago

Les Chailles Cornas Syrah 2013

Wild and smoky, presenting deep ruby in the glass. Palate is stylish and peppery with alcohol in check. Possibly whole cluster? Violets and coffee grounds come around with air. Guessed Faury St. Joseph 2015 blind, a’thank you! — 5 months ago

Hermitage Syrah 2009

Bessards-Greffieux. Tastes 3 years old 😂😂 enveloping richness tempered by sturdy tannin and that classic Hermitage granitic bite. Layered, some part coarse and angular marrying with some parts supple and round. All working very well IMO. The Faury finesse and subtlety is there, this is a thinking wine, perfect for not sharing on Father’s day. — a year ago

Lionel Faury Condrieu Viognier 2019

Starts out super aromatic, over the top intensity of stone fruit, white flowers, marble, just a touch of vanilla in the background. On the palate viscosity strikes first, with fruit stepping back, some phenolics bitterness and a mouth-coating finish — 3 years ago
