When Lafon is on they’re as good as any name in white burgundy. 2012 Genevrieres is an absolute banger, seamlessly balanced between richness and elegance and perfectly developed wafting waves of defined fruit, pastry cream, butterscotch and toasted almonds within its layered minerality. It wraps around the palate with incredible texture, concentration and density with a massively long, silky finish. Crazy good. — a month ago

rounded fresh fruits, deeply tannic still. aniseed, pepper, like a cured sausage taste. light oak on the nose and on palate. clove. slightly mineralic, granite and graphite, fresh olive, orange rind. — 25 days ago
1998 vintage. This estate was acquired in 1972 by former Château Yquem régisseur Pierre Meslier ( who passed away in 2023 at the age of 93). He managed to restore the wines to their former glory, and his 3 children seem to continue on the same path. This 1998 features a brilliant, golden colour, and a nose that immediately shows off the typical roasted botrytis aromas that characterise great Sauternes, intertwined with honey, beewax, maple syrup, lemon confit and flowers. In the mouth, it is succulent and profound, wonderfully achieving that delicate balance between sugar and acidity that makes Sauternes potentially great. Layers of dried and fresh fruit, rich and refreshing at the same time, culminating in a very long finish with a lovely almondy impression. Excellent. Abv. 13,5%. — 2 months ago
All oak and diacetyl at first. Does so much better with some warmth and time in the glass. Salty canned pineapple, vanilla custard, apricot, a touch of green olive, chalky limestone quality—far from Chablis but with an oyster shell quality and wild acid. Sounds like a terrible combination and yet somehow it works. — 16 days ago
The 2013 Comtes de Champagne is a towering Champagne, as it was last year. Rich, sumptuous and explosive, the 2013 soars out of the glass with a captivating mix of tropical fruit, apricot, passion fruit, baked apple tart, mint and yellow flowers. It is one of the most explosive, extroverted Comtes I have ever tasted. Impressive. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2024)

Stunner. Mature white burg at its finest from 02 Charmes, still incredibly youthful and vibrant with captivating aromatics of spiced orchard fruit, toasted hazelnuts and butterscotch that comes in waves, and the palate is expansive, textural and stunningly complex, both rich and refined with a silky, crystalline and mineral finish. Amazing wine. — 4 days ago
