Always at least very good, this ‘22 is an excellent rendition. Of the Maconnais AOCs, I gravitate toward Vire-Clesse because I find it has a purity of Chardonnay fruit that I find very attractive. This has it, with the nose showing gorgeous apple fruit with a slight peachy note, along with subtle stony minerality. I get more of a mineral stank from the Pouilly’s and Saint-Veran than from V-C. When it’s fruit I crave, I veer towards Vire. Fairly deeply flavored, there’s nice balance on the mouth, with pretty good, integrated acids for such a hot year, and subtle minerality. Great value. — a year ago
Fantastic. Little evidence of oak, medium-plus acidity, lovely notes of flowers, minerals, green apple and citrus. Great length. — 4 years ago

Saint-Veran, very close to Pouilly Fuissé but a bit south this warmer, is a great option for Chardonnay lovers recoiling at rising prices in the Côte d’Or. this wine is delightfully fresh with bright lemon, golden apple, ripe pear, white peach and a hint of new oak - in short a combination of the best of Burgundy but ripe like new world. Elegant, very well priced and, with this crisp acidity, wonderful with food — 4 years ago

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our Pops conductor Keith Lockhart is leading a live-to-picture performance of Star Wars: A New Hope, a showing of the classic 1977 film, with the Orchestra performing Mr. Williams’ iconic score.
For live-to-picture productions, the orchestra performs the entire movie score in real time as the film unspools. (Vocals, dialogue and effects are isolated from the original music track.)
Generally we get to here Star Wars scores a couple times per season here at Tanglewood, but tonight we get a chance to hear them with the backdrop of the movie (Episode IV) that launched a franchise, to say the least!
I celebrated another full trip around the sun, since my coming into this world, earlier this week. Tonight my wife, some dear friends and me will be enjoying some enticing wines along with our movie night. So notes...maybe, but I'll try! — 7 years ago
This is the Couterier St Veran Cour de Bois…..an eminently quaffable white, a real thirst quencher - does that make it good? Pretty simple, sparkly, bright nose, not much structure or body, but tasty. None of that acidic finish I dislike — 8 months ago

Interesting wine, very floral, quite aromatic for the appellation. Wispy, leesy, creamy on the palate, with white fruit, white flowers, a hint of tropical fruit and vanilla. Open for business and easy drinking. Starts to get a bit cloying by the end of the second glass, but a very interesting style and a good value at 10 €. — 4 years ago
same color as the Saint Veran from the same producer (pale yellow) but the resemblance stops there. The nose is citrusy, sulfure, green apple. In the mouth it's straight and with a nice attack that is maintained with a feeling of chalk in the mouth. Good lenght but not in relation to the delusional price. — 7 years ago
