Slightly deeper ruby compared to the Gevrey , with quite wide garnet rim . Denser more closed nose , darker fruits , cassis , dark cherry , touch of baking spice . On the palate quite taut and refined with more tannin , more mineral with a dark cherry , cassis notes . More noticeable tannin , polished but present, good fresh acidity and good length . This needs a little more time 2 or 3 years perhaps and will last well a further 5 -8 . A step up in complexity and persistence from the Gevrey 1er Cru . — 2 months ago

Old-school Italian wine that is perfect for pizza. Somewhat thin and alcoholic but typical of wines served in Italian restaurants in Brooklyn when I was small. Flavorful and a perfect match to the marinara sauce of New York Patsy’s Pizzeria or Joe & Pat’s. — a month ago
