Château La Croix St. Georges

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Vintage 2009 | This is a Pomerol with a certain strictness. We tasted it blind next to a left bank wine but the tasters did not recognize this as a right bank wine. It seems to be made for the long haul, with clear tannines even after 15 years. Good integrated wood with a light vanilla impression. — 2 months ago

Hot tub-! Meaning, Macon in the hot tub. Which also means that any wine tasted in hot tub conditions deserves better, & at least some recognition the hot tub distorts. Still, a lithe, Meyer lemon & mineral palate. Helps actually to be in, yes, the hot tub to loosen up the dimensionality. Would go back to this. — 4 months ago

I know, I should really be ashamed of myself. Maybe a better review would be that a very modest, well made Macon was obscured by environmental conditions. Plus I grew up up w Eddie Murphy comedy- & he did a very good James Brown skit. Pls forgive me…@Peter van den Besselaar

La Côte Rousse Red Mountain Syrah 2010

Deep Inky in color with a wide reddish rim.

Strong nose, and dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing black fruits with wood, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, earth, dark chocolates and peppercorn.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This 14 year old Syrah from Red Mountain in Washington State is delicious now. Tangy and interesting.

Needed 2 hours to open up properly. Worth the wait.

Big and juicy. Bold and good by itself or with food.

14.4% alcohol by volume.

92 points.
