2024 spring. I was excited to have a bottle - any bottle - of Bachelet, an old favorite which I don’t drink much anymore due to price craziness. This was good, but perhaps due to the vintage was rather dense and dark and brooding - perhaps it will loosen with time — 3 months ago

Deep ruby color. Aromas and flavors of black cherry and black plum, violets, lavender, cola, black pepper and wet shale. Long earthy finish. Quite fruit forward but there are enough tertiary notes to make this wine harmonious. Mouth watering acidity and fine tannins. Medium bodied and nicely structured. Solid QPR. — 5 months ago

2024/8/10. I suppose the awesome meal may have affected my judgement, but this seemed like what you hope for in a Chassagne 1er - not overly effusive, but broad, savory, earthy, a good balance of fruit, mineral and toast — 3 months ago
