Quinta da Pellada

Quinta de Saes Dão Touriga Nacional Blend 2017

Had this at chef Avillez’s Bairro in Lisbon’s Chiado neighborhood. First time trying a Dao DOC wine, and it was splendid. Medium bodied, dark fruit and peppery. A nice contrast to the lighter vino verde’s I’ve had a lot of in Portugal. A bottle of this in front of me would be dangerous. — 6 months ago

Quinta de Lemos

Dona Santana Touriga Nacional Blend 2006

Cork disintegrated but this Dao is exceptional. Totally resolved, with nicely ripe fruit mingling with secondary and tertiary leather and dusty gravel notes. Velvety textured. Acids balanced. It could actually hold a few more years. — 5 months ago

Quinta de Lemos

Touriga Nacional

2011 vintage. 100% Touriga Nacional from 12 years old vines. Aged in French barriques for 18 months. Dark red with only a little evolution. Holding back in the nose with timid blackberries violet impressions. Powerful wine with a black fruit a bit monolithic, packed with ripe tannin, while remaining very fresh. Long spicy finish. Might deserve a higher score with more bottle age. — a year ago

Dão Red Blend 2019

Cherry. And even though there are tannins, the sweetness balances them out. — 3 months ago

Teeny bit of salt gives way to more savory notes with some tart fruit at the end. Not too oaky. Glou glou glou — 7 months ago
