The colour of pink copper. Consistent fine bead with aromas of strawberry, honey dew melon, hint of beeswax. 100% Pinot Noir. As Jancis commented “like a Volnay in its perfume and delicacy but as substantial as fine red burgundy “. Could not see the point in further cellaring given how good this is now and already 17 years old, even if the window by JR is to 2027. A combination celebration of wedding anniversary and farewell to the children returning overseas. It’s all happening!! PS The photo shows the back light on turned on with a switch in the punt of the bottle giving a sexy pink glow. Obviously aimed at the dimly lit night club scene where it would definitely enhance sales. — 3 years ago
Maistui raparperipiirakan ja savulohen kanssa. Mukavan pehmeä, ei aggressiivinen. — 3 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Better on Day 2. The 2017 Rosé pours a unique copper gold color with medium viscosity; no signs of particles or gas. On the nose, the wine is developing with fascinating notes of black lemon, bruised pink apple, raspberry, marjoram, tarragon, and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with perceptible but low tannin and high acid. Confirming the notes on the nose with the addition of a somewhat nutty characteristic reminiscent of spiced almonds. The finish is medium+ and savory. A wine for thinking. Similar to the R. Lopez de Heredia wines: if you like the white, you will like the rosé. Just lovely. Drink now with patience and a slight chill; best after 2027 through 2037. — 5 months ago
Gorgeous light copper color. Honey and melon on the nose. Initially a bubbly, dry white. Settles into a smooth minerality with a soft sourness that subtly becomes lightly fruited as it's in contact w the air. Incredible! — 3 years ago
A bright rose color with a touch of copper. Tiny, delicate bubbles that are effusive. The nose is fruity and generous with wild strawberries, cherries, and orange zest. Citrus notes come into play with grapefruits and a dash of lemon. Clearly defined rose petals accompany cinnamon and nutmeg. Over time, freshly baked vanilla brioche comes to the fore.
The gulf between Veuve’s vintage bottling and the entry level rosé is vast and deep. Harmonious, elegant, and deft. A blend of 61/34/5 PN/CH/PM with 14% of still red wine from Bouzy with a dosage of 8 g/l. Disgorged in November of 2016 so it’s mature already but has years and years to go. This is one of the more well defined rosés around and one that will easily improve over time. Restrained acidity but terrific in the mouth.
Plenty of sex and emotion here. Indubitably a Grande Marque upon tasting, there’s plenty of complexity and drama here. The palate provides chalk and pastries. Beautiful red fruits along with herbs and spices. Long finish. A stunner of a champagne. Spectacular today but what will it be tomorrow? — 3 years ago
Pretty dark purple in color. Aroma has a big caramel impression with some dried fruits layered in - think date. Body is heavy syrup like that finishes velvety. Great balance between a tart acidity and medium sweetness. Age has been very kind to this bottle. — 7 months ago
Had at club 27. Really liked. Smooth. Would get again. — 10 months ago
This superstar 2012 vintage just doesn’t seem to miss. Especially not when paired with the elegance of Bollinger.
A gorgeous rose copper color in the glass. Plenty of fine bubbles that seem to just go on and on. The approachability of these outstanding 12’s is immediate. Wild strawberries and herbs shine on the nose. Red currant, raspberries, and stewed plums. Some exquisite spice notes along with white flowers. Tangerines and watermelons play a part.
The vitality and sheer energy of this is amazing. 67% Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Verzenay. 33% Chardonnay from Oiry and Le Mesnil sur Oger with 5% still red wine from Bollinger’s legendary Côte aux Enfants vineyard. Terrific youthful tension and balance. Zippy acidity with 8 g/l of sugar. Disgorged in August of 2019 and already showing some maturity.
Pure romance on the tongue. Silky smooth and elegant with fresh red berries and more spice on the palate. Saffron and honey with oak complimenting. The Lehmann Jamesse Grand Blanc provided more floral notes, while the Riedel Dom Perignon showed more ripe fruit and minerality. Both wonderful. Yes this will obviously develop over time and become so much more special but you deserve this now. So do I. Enjoy.

The 2019 Pinot Grigio Jesera has a pretty pink color with copper hues strewn throughout. It’s wonderfully fresh and lifted, showing white strawberry, apple, a dusting of confectioners’ sugar and hints of candied ginger. Silky textures flesh out across the senses, weightier than expected yet perfectly balanced by brisk acids, taking on a more savory persona, as notes of peach and melon give way to zesty exotic spices. There’s an almost-Asian peppery note here coupled with the wine’s inner florals that excites the senses. The Jesera really makes the case for skin-contact Pinot Grigio and will appeal to a broad range of palates. (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2021)

See 3 previous Delectable notes. This was my last bottle of the best new world Vermentino I’ve had. Green apple, medium acid. Grand Champion of the Toowoomba Wine Show in 2021 when I was a Judge. Quite delicious - more full bodied than any Italian Vermentino I’ve had. The palate is quite unctuous with mandarin and quince. Even though the winery is in Queensland on the Granite Belt, the fruit comes from the Mildura (NW Victoria) warm region. — 3 months ago
