Color of ruby, clear. Nose of fresh cranberry, milky vanilla, licorice, spice, some strawberry ice cream, tangerine, and sweet sensation. Taste of spice and zest, some backbone tannins, sweetness, and fresh grapes. Aftertaste of some more warmth in the throat. Easy to drink. A bit sweet for me. On par. — 6 years ago
Lives up to its name. Maraschino cherries on the nose. Bright, soft, mild acidity, great with a chill on it - would be perfect on a warm spring afternoon. — 6 years ago

Light, fruity and sweet, great dessert wine or great for a hot day! — 6 years ago
Holy balls. Ethereal. Beyond ethereal. Like a cloud. Just insane. Hint of sweet wood, iodine, saline, Meyer lemon, hickory smoke, sweet pear, pear juice, incredible spice, cloud like. Huge mineral stank. So complex. Palate is a masterpiece. Elegant, sweet, lemon, pear, apple, so ethereal, sweet fruit and wood, sweet lemon, inner mouth aromas, so balanced, so energetic, so long. Such hierarchy of flavor. Pitter patter of a finish. — 6 years ago

1978 Chuck Hope left beverage job, moved to Paso Robles, became farmer, & top grape grower. Working with his father, Austin led family into winemaking in ‘95, creating his label in 2000. #7 on Top 100 list, Grapes from 5 small blocks of Paso Robles AVAs, aged in 75% new French oak, 18 mos. Dark deep Ruby, aromas of sweet ripe black fruits & dried smoky tobacco spices. Flavors of ripe blackberry, sweet cacao, espresso & vanilla oak. Big wine, fine tannins, long fruit finish, vanilla overwhelms fruit. The 15% ABV has slight burn. — 5 years ago
