Domaine de Semainville

Apéritif Normand Pommeau de Semainville

As a big fan of Camut’s calvados, this was a ton of fun to try. First time having anything like this. At only 17% abv, much more drinkable after a long meal than calvados. Beautiful deep caramel apple nose. A bit lighter if you’re expecting a brandy, which this is clearly not - but really very nice (and perfect for the fall and alongside an apple crumble!) — 5 years ago

Mâcon Chardonnay

Complex Chardonnay - medium body, fruity on the nose and palate, stone fruits, medium acidity, low tannin, no oak. Flavors stick with you in a good way. Love this one! Will buy again! — 9 months ago

Domaine cidricole 5 autels

Le Brut Cidre Normand

Really great. Flowers, honey, apple pie filling, long finish with more tart apples and hint of honey. Worth seeking out. Not as “brut” as I typically think in cider. — 4 years ago

Plantagenet

Normand Western Australia Pinot Noir 2018

A sappy red fruited slightly savoury perfume…stewed fruits. Reminds me of those Western Australia Pinot characteristics. I used to buy Moss Wood Pinot where the fruit came from Pemberton if I recall correctly. This WA Pinot from Mount Barker, we bought at the winery a few years ago reminds me of the old Moss Wood Pinots. I don’t think this is a cellaring proposition but it is tasting great at 6 years old. On the 2nd night a whiff of honeycomb from the oak. — 2 years ago
