Clos Normand

Domaine de Semainville

Apéritif Normand Pommeau de Semainville

As a big fan of Camut’s calvados, this was a ton of fun to try. First time having anything like this. At only 17% abv, much more drinkable after a long meal than calvados. Beautiful deep caramel apple nose. A bit lighter if you’re expecting a brandy, which this is clearly not - but really very nice (and perfect for the fall and alongside an apple crumble!) — 4 months ago

Santa Claud sings jazz to you in a small bar in Normandy, and you're cold but ruddy. Is this stand up or true mirth? It's the holiday you imagine in a bar near Skid Row in Downtown LA when you take a sip of this and are transported by a northern bite to your tongue. Irony or sincerity--it's so fresh but so sweet! I could go for more fizz, but one only feels permitted to request such things when engulfed by luxury — 4 years ago

Haha Ian, in trou Normand is when you take a pause in your meal to cleanse the palate, it's usually a shot of something strong to cut the dinner service in two.
