Doing the typical “Two sides of the Loire” comparative tasting.
Muted on the nose with shy green grass & nettle + starts showing a very interesting waxy note after some time. More vivid on the palate, though still defined rather by its acidic structure than fruit. Ripe gooseberries, green apples and the grass again. Finishes off with an austere flinty, slightly steely note.
Not bad but quite far from what Sancerre is capable of. — 6 years ago
Nice balance and good nose — 4 years ago
It’s quite sweet but I like it. Kinda like cranberry juice wine? — 5 years ago
Holding up well — 5 years ago
Like a Pinot noir with a bit of funky hay and some overripe blackberries with a hint of clove... super yum. A few layers, fruit, then spice, but simple enough to enjoy anytime. — 6 years ago
A lovely red wine for our evening! — 8 years ago
John has this right: old school. It’s rich and has plenty of unripe strawberry and garrigue and tart cherries going on. Love it. Not too complex but great value. 2023
