2010 vintage. Decanted and tasted immediately. Lean and mean. Medium body but only because of the concentration. Dark fruits and plenty of espresso influence evident. Slightly less delicate than other P-C efforts fortunate enuff to taste. Tighter than the outstanding 2009 upon initial impressions. Needed more time to coddle this one but couldn't carve it out. ***EDIT 6.27.26***Delectable was having a moment during the review process and couldn't access previous wines/research properly, so went with memory. Ha so bad. It WASN'T the 2009 I thought I previously had. Actually confused vintages and had this exact 2010 vintage on 12.5.25 (9.6) with enough time to appreciate properly. The 2010 quickie was still nice at 9.4 but not nearly as good as being 9.6 romanced properly. 6.20.26. — 11 days ago

Bottle #2 from case and it has gained some structure and opened a bit in the last 1.5 years. Nose is great, reminds me a lot of last nights Pontet Canet on nose. Hint of tobacco, pencil leaf, red fruits currant, kirsch, and red berries. Great mouthfeel, great balance, and good structure. Looking forward to another in 2 years if I can wait! — 6 months ago

2019 vintage. Sampled via Coravin. Dark-fruited nose. Medium/medium-heavy body. Nose a preamble for the brooding plum, cherry, cassis, blackberry and blueberry. Noticeable tannins afoot but not on Terminator-dodging/avoidance terms. From the property previously owned by the late, great, one and only Robin Williams. New owners Château Pontet-Canet BDX peeps named the new venture after the middle names of Robin Williams’ children. Cool. Structure definitely hovering with that dark fruit and extremely well made effort. Not gratuitous in any way. Need to stash a bottle and reconvene in 2035. This was awesome! PnP’d. Very balanced wine. Medium plus depth. Integrated dark blue and black fruit with oak, vanilla, and cedar. Somewhat similar to Pontet Canet. Lovely silky texture and medium plus finish. Exactly how Napa Cab should taste! — 4 years ago

PnP’d. Should have given an hour decant. Medium red color. Is a cross between Pinot, Cab, and a Spanish red. Mix the Aubert Pinot I had the other night and Pontet Canet and you get close. The 2016 has rounder fatter fruit and less angular architecture than the 2010, and more intense structure than the 2015. The aroma is a classic old school Pauillac, black fruit, tobacco, cigar box and graphite, on top of leathery barnyard bass notes that one often finds in old Lynch Bages or Pontet Canet. More masculine than feminine with lack of vanilla and minty notes. No overripeness, over-oakiness, over-manipulation this year. Type IV Bordeaux in which the aromatic complexity and the structural intensity is well-matched. Less polish this year but the balance between the presence and the reserve is so well-judged. — 4 years ago

Aromas & Flavors
Black cherry, cassis, dark plum, graphite, cedar, and subtle baking spice. As the wine opens, layers of cocoa, tobacco leaf, and earthy minerality begin to emerge.

1hr+ decant. Lovely dark red/purple color. Still has years left in it. Blue fruit with cedar and car exhaust (in a good way!). Well integrated as only Paul can do. Neal never stops impressing!!! Would have guessed Bordeaux all the way. 1hr+ decant. Nose of dark cherries, cedar, and menthol. Blue and black fruit on the palate with well integrated alcohol. The Tesseron family (currently the proprietors of St.-Estèphe’s Lafon-Rochet and Pauillac’s Pontet-Canet) made its fortune in the Cognac business, and it is one of the few families to possess ancient stocks of great vintages that have not been diluted with water or manipulated in any manner. They released small quantities of Lot 29 (1929), which remains the most ethereal Cognac I have ever tasted. I’m no expert, but their newest release, the 1953, seems close in quality to the 1929. Slightly darker than the 1929, the 1953 is pure silk, which at this alcohol level is very dangerous indeed. The complex aromatics can fill a room.
