(Two previous 1983 wine reviews never made it on here, so copying from my CT).
Continuing a run of ‘83s over the last 3-6 months, this not only showed quite well, but it was at its best after almost two hours in the bottle. Whereas the ‘83 Pichon was clean and elegant, this was a bit more dense and powerful. Beautifully expressive aromatics of potpourri, espresso, fig and leather with a flavor profile mostly on the red/black fruit side of the spectrum. The mid-palate showed good weight and continued to bulk-up during the evening. Old cherry-tobacco note at the finish. Honestly, this drank like it was more early ‘90s than it was early ‘80s. Big on fruit, nice peppery finish & a beautiful dark plum color. Very easy to smile while sipping this lovely Grenache from Southern Rhone — 5 months ago
Very nice stony minerality. Very lean and precise. It’ll improve with time.
Wonderful wine. — 8 days ago

A 2nd Grand Cru Classé 1855 Chateau located in the southern end of Pauillac that produces powerful wines with amazing structure wines.
V.2018 was beautifully blended at 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35%Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 8%Petit Verdot, that delivers high-powered notes of espresso, tobacco leaves, and dense-black fruits on the nose.
Full-bodied, rich and velvety with an exquisite silken mouthfeel that is so signature of Pauillac wines, very plushy and opulent, yet well-priced and worth every single sip to the very last drop.
Age worthy to a decade if patient. However; literally couldn’t wait for it and had it all in a single seat! — 6 days ago
