Melon de Bourgogne by Jerome Bretaudeau from vineyards on granite soils. Raised in concrete egg for 18 months. Green apple, citrus and minerals on the nose. Quite rich, round, textured, saline. Good length — 4 years ago
2015 vintage. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. If you are looking for blockbusters this might not be your thing. I used to think of Fronsac as very rustic wines that often lacked charm, but these days many fine wines can be found here. This one is all about elegance and gentle extraction. Ripe cassis and flowers in the nose. Gentle and effortless in the mouth, elegant and fresh with good spicy minty length. Lovely. Abv. 13,5 %. — 6 years ago
Medium ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cranberry, pepper, plum, toast, and vanilla. Medium-plus body; firm, medium-plus tannins and refreshing, medium-plus acidity. An rich, ripe bouquet of fruit and spice; a soft, well-integrated mouthfeel; and an easygoing finish (with a little heat on the backend). A solid, everyday wine. Blend of Grenache (50%), Syrah (30%), Carignan (10%), and Mourvedre (10%). — 6 years ago

Wow! Held up quite nicely. Yum! — 15 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2008 pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of cassis, kirsch, green bell pepper, graphite, dried purple flowers, earth and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium and sanguine. Old school Bordeaux and delicious. Drink now through 2038. — 3 months ago
Outstanding Beaujolais. Shimmers in the glass. Minerals and bright black cherry dominate on the palate, with a smack of flowers on the finish. — 10 months ago
Dark ruby color, nose with accents of "Blue Stones" rather black cherry, accompanied by toasted melted notes of aging. The third dimension is driven by evolution and its many very Burgundian nuances (roasting, undergrowth, pot-pourri). Semi-light body although quite intense and concentrated, The finish is of a beautiful length, carried by fleshy and coated aging tannins.
— 4 years ago

I did not have high hopes for this one especially after paying $7.50. However, this is a well-structured wine! Very dark and really good. I wished I had bought more. — 2 years ago

An award winner every year, Chateau Bellevue Peycharneau is an extraordinary wine produced from a 37-acre hillside vineyard on the far-easter border of Bordeaux, near Bergerac. Deep purple color, Intense, expensive nose of red cherries, blackberries, toast and licorice. Riche and concentrated in the mouth with silky tannins and a nice long finish. +2 hour decant(decent sediment). A striking deep dark ruby red color. On the nose: expressive notes of red fruit, floral, tobacco leaf, forest floor, espresso, oak. Taste: Silky-smooth, dense, intense wine with ripe red cherry/plum, glycerin, crushed stones, licorice, and a smokey peppery leather long dry finish. YUM! not for the faint of heart! — 11 days ago
