The blend is darker fruit with an outwardly apparent Cabernet Franc element that brings violets on the nose and blackberry and brambles on the palette. On the bigger-framed and riper side, which is usually not my preferred style, but it’s pretty good nonetheless. Nose shows ripe dark fruit, and a tiny bit of dark ,chocolate, but that’s redeemed by nice dark olivey notes and deep stony minerality. Rich and very southern Rhone-like in the mouth, the richness again redeemed by the minerality. Would I have preferred they picked a little earlier? Sure. But this still is quite good. 40% Carignane, 30% Syrah, 30% Grenache. — 2 years ago

Nice nose with oaky notes and currant and small red berries. There is a tiny bit of meat juice too. The palate is well made with a good width, some matter and a nice grainy mouthfeel that expand in the rear with a spherical effect before a great finish with fruits, that meat juice touch and a tiny touch of bitterness. I have had much worse Saint emilion grand cru — 2 years ago
