Château Côtes De Saint Clair

Château de Saint-Cosme

Côtes du Rhône Syrah 2024

Clear, deep ruby to purple in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary aromas of black currant jam, dried herbs, and plums; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, bkack olives, and clay pots with a long finish. This wine is complex and intense, but a little too bitter and tannic. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. Nellie didn't not like it with our food. — 17 days ago

Clos Saint-Joseph

Villars-sur-Var Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

2019 vintage. Decanted and tasted after one hour. Non-committal nose. Light-medium/medium body. Grace and elegance with some dark fruit and earthy markers placed throughout. Overall, it is flowing fairly seamlessly now without bumping into any sharp edges. Expected a bigger wine. Pleased it wasn’t. No previous experience with this wine/producer but maan…having a half-case of this (or more) would really be nice as this covers an absolute ton of food options. 3.13.26. — 5 months ago

Some (surprisingly?) really good Cab-based wines comes out of Provence. And yet I keep forgetting they’re there.

Domaine William Fèvre

Saint-Bris Sauvignon 2021

Slight yellow color with aromas of lemon, apple, and a bit of minerality. On the bud, it rich with a nice body and acidity. Green apple tartness with a medium finish.

Yes, this is in the Burgundy region not too far from Chablis. Saint-Bris is the only place you can get a Sauvignon Blanc in Burgundy.

Saint-Bris Sauvignon Blanc 2023

My first Saint-Bris! Pale lemon yellow color. Plush aromas of citrus fruit, white flowers, chalk and abundant fresh herbs. Flavors of unripe peach, all those savory herbs, green apple and lemon zest. Noticeable mineral backbone on the long and drawn out finish. Lively and crisp acidity. Medium-minus body and wonderful freshness. Vibrant and harmonious! There are Chablis comparisons here. Another example of outstanding white burgundy! — 7 months ago
