Still early. Mouthful experience — 2 months ago
Nose is floral/tropical.
Palate is honey and cantaloupe.
As this opens its quite elegant. Not a great wine. But as the English would say lovely. Palate has apricot pits and almost diluted honey. Not an in your face honey. But an elegant one.

HAPPY 4TH of JULY!! 1st vintage from this Napa vineyards syrah from Heidi Barrett(200 cases). Pays homage to L'Hermitage Rhone region(got a kick out of the wine name and bought it, forgot it, pulled it from the cellar today).
Double decant and pour. A stately inky dark garnet color. On the nose: plum, earthy, smoked meat, herbal, vanilla. Taste: A juicy, silky wine with fading dark fruit, dried herbs, milk chocolate.....with a spicy leather medium plus finish. Tannins are resolved...drink em if you got em!! — a month ago
Fruity, medium bodied, easy to drink. Pairs well with meat and cheese.

2016 vintage. Dark red. Black fruit, fresh herbs and a tarry hint, still holding back but obvious underlying complexity. Ripe blackberry and cassis, good focus and fresh acidity, refined tannin and an overall sense of harmony. Cave de Tain is probably the best co-operative in France and this is another fine showing. Good value for Hermitage at about 36 euro. — 3 months ago
