Inky garnet in the glass. Smoky bing cherry, clove and baking spices on the nose. Silky on the palate with vanilla and ripe raspberry, very fine tannins. Perfect pairing with Salmon in a Honey, Soy, Garlic and Dijon glaze! — 5 years ago
Absolutely fabulous 29 year old cab from Carmel valley’s oldest Cabernet vineyard planted at 1500’ in 1968.
Almost Bordeaux like with some California weight. Beautiful dark mahogany. Still has some primary fruit (dusty dark cherry) complimented by notes of tobacco, Cedar and subtle dill. Well made and still has a lot of life. I love these old durney wines. — 6 years ago
Caramel, butterscotch, burnt sugar, faint lychee/ripe apple, slight flint on the nose.
Tasted this at Sandhi’s tasting room in Lompoc and fell in love with this taut, flinty, mineral pracific sea breeze driven chard.
Acid remains racy and a pleasurable line of intensity on the palate. Fruit notes of green apple and the freshness of blades of grass are now subtly, beautifully fading into an after-the-rain-like petrichor that is lovely.
A flintiness handshakes a butteriness in terms of front texture and finish, lingering for a while. Secondary and tertiary notes of age are alive and brimming. Almondy.
Good. Great. Some more please. — 3 months ago
Fruity and straightforward with a delicious bright finish. Better than expected. — 9 months ago
Tons of flavors, long full bodied finish. One of our favorites — 5 years ago
Petroleum, honeysuckle, yellow cake, and lavender nose. On the palate more petrol, peach nectar, honey, ruby red grapefruit, gunpowder, white pepper, with a powerful petrol after nose. I might have called this a quality german trocken Riesling in a blind test. This is a fabulous Viognier in the french style. — 6 years ago

Wowee! Fab with maitake mushroom soba. Needs to breathe a bit as the finish is a little Bretty upon open but it blows off. — 6 years ago
My first wine from Israel. The low ratings on delectable surprised me. Maybe people are too used to big bold Napa fruit bombs. This cab is constrained, almost medium bodied, austere, but delicious. This wine screams for food, sort of like a Nebbiolo. — 6 years ago
"Odedi"
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.
Complex nose of red and black fruits with wood, earth, vegetables, dark coffee, light mildew, spices, tobacco leaf and light forest floor.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, licorice and black pepper.
Tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 32 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Carmel Valley is still drinking beautifully, but not at its peak anymore.
Still showing enough fruits for the acidity, tangy and interesting. Complex and very entertaining.
It's always a great experience to drink these kind of aged wines.
