Tonights wine I have opened is the 2019 Catherine Marshall Sauvignon Blanc Elgin Valley, South Africa.
The nose has beautiful aromatics with abundance of grapefruit, peach, nectarine, green bell pepper, herbs, grass and minerals.
On the palate the is lime, grapefruit, white peach, bell pepper, basil, jalapeño, grass and minerals.
This wine is medium bodied that is rich and mouth filling and medium to medium + acidity with a long crisp clean citrus finish. I hope everyone's weekend is going well? Please continue being safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 3 days ago
Picked this up on recommendation from wine shop while visiting my daughter in Chicago. The Barefoot stuff she had just wasn’t going to cut it. There is so much red fruit. Cherry, strawberry, pomegranate. Baking spices...cinnamon, cloves?? Even some earthiness starts to show after a bit. Had a glass then threw it in the fridge to chill for a bit. I think I have had PN from 4 different continents in the last 2 weeks. Aromatics are fantastic. This is so good. — 24 days ago
Citrus on the front, relaxing into fig and a little honeydew plus some hints of fragrant flowers, finishing with just a bit of oak and creaminess. — 10 days ago
Happy International Pinotage Day. Here is a gorgeous Pinotage to celebrate with.
Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.
Nice nose of black currants, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, chocolates, vanilla, violets, coffee, Mediterranean spices, peppercorn, herbs, earth and dark chocolates.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black plums, black cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco leaf, coke, dark roast coffee, earth, light vegetables and pencil lead.
Long finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Pinotage from South Africa. Drinking very nicely now, with a great mouthfeel. Shows nice complexity and good by itself or with food.
Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show some tannins, so be patient.
This 8 year old is peaking now. I've had this vintage 5 years ago, and decided to let it mature for a while. What a great call, as it made such a big difference.
Rich and expressive. Tasty and interesting. Just Delicious.
I paired it with a cheese plate and crackers.
Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Drank at home. Fresh and rounded, easy to drink. Would have again — 8 days ago
This is a wine that shows why I love pinotage! The nose has a ton of coffee, mocha and even some tobacco. But then the taste is some of that rich dark fruit, like cherry and cranberry. Really fun — 19 days ago
I haven’t had a new world cab Sauvignon in ages. This maker gets some press as she is working in a former apartheid state, but really this wine deserves kudos: most of all contains tension & a wirey ness that belies its cab Sauvignon credentials. Serious chocolate notes. Drink it on cold room temp side & you will be happy. Good wet winter night wine. — 4 days ago
Från en mycket högt belägen vingård i Hemel-en-Arde. Svalodlad karaktär. Frisk, Medelfyllig med lyxig textur och snärtig frukt. Gröna äpplen, ananas, blommor, hasselnöt och elektriskt avslut. Lagringsduglig. — 9 days ago
Bought this on sale at our store and it is a wonderful blend. — 9 days ago
Solid red blend. Good, nothing offensive about it. Would buy again. Also pretty label. — 16 days ago
